The rookie NYPD officer who shot and killed Akai Gurley in a Brooklyn public housing development was indicted Wednesday.
As CBS2s Weijia Jiang reported, sources told CBS2 a grand jury indicted NYPD Officer Peter Liang. Specific charges will not be revealed until the indictment is unsealed, and Liang is arraigned, on Wednesday.
The Brooklyn District Attorneys office would not confirm Liangs indictment late Tuesday, but was set to hold a news conference on Wednesday afternoon.

This one appears to be a bad shooting by the cop.

that any given cop might have had an issue with this guy ...relative to a that booking for whatever crime...which did not lead to the guys being found Guilty and being imprisoned.
Im not saying his having been booked justified his shooting simply looking at possible motives FOR the shooting.

I think it was an honest mistake, but if you or I accidentally shot a guy, we'd be indicted too.

CBS Story made it sound as if it were an accidental discharge ...door bump ...poor lighting ... .
The Very Reverend Al Sharpton very muted in his comments, asking all to make sure the copper got due process, etc. etc.
To: ansel12
The Wall Street Journal goes on to report: Mr. (Akai) Gurley has 24 prior arrests, the majority of which are drug related, but also include robbery and criminal trespassing.
the cop may have accidently shot the guy knowing the likelihood of his coming to the dooe with a weapon...
TWO ROOKIE COPS together....on this contact..was probably not such a wise idea!

Why look for conspiracy and a premeditated murder when you have zero reason to do so, and it appears to have happened in a scenario that couldn’t have been a set up?
It was probably just the usual.

To: ansel12
two rookies....knowing the guys record...one likely went over the edge....
thats fairly simple and hard;y a conspiracy theory

I see, so you made this more “simple” by turning it into a premeditated, conspiratorial murder, by at least two NYPD, who arranged to ambush the guy as he and his girlfriend entered the 7th floor landing.
Thanks.

The most likely scenario is that neither cop even saw him well enough to identify him anyway.
It's a common practice in NYC housing projects for mutants to destroy the light bulbs in the stairways and rob people as they walk down the darkened stairs. It's hard to see anything at all, and anyone in the stairway has to be prepared for the worst. That's why NYC police officers always have their guns drawn when they're walking up the stairs in those buildings.
