Muslim holiday being honored by Conn. school district includes animal sacrifice We reported on the basics of this story earlier. I felt another post was necessary for some of the specifics.
According to the NY Daily News, one of the holidays that the Waterbury school district has decided to honor is Eid al-Adha:
The board voted to recognize Eid Al-Fitr, marking the end of the month of Ramadan, and Eid Al-Adha, an annual feast day, by giving observant students the day off to celebrate with their families. It also voted to instruct educators not to schedule any field trips, major tests or class events on the two holidays, according to the FoxCT channel.
Walid Shoebat points out that Eid al-Adha isnt just a day of prayer and family, but it also includes the sacrificing of an animal at the end of the day:
Eid al-Adha is the Muslim Festival of the sacrifice which falls on the Muslim 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah and lasts for three days.

Muslims behead animals and humans the same way. Gotta give them points for consistency.
Will they do the same for the Indiction, the Exalatation of the Cross, and Theophany for Orthodox Christians?
And Christians cannot even mention the name of God in school?
How about homeschooling the kids?
And Christmas and Chanukah are out ... figures ... what’s this separation of church and state nonsense is all about?
Oh sure they can. It says so right there in the First Amendment.
Where’s PETA when you need them?
I doubt that we’ll be hearing from PETA on this matter. Kinda like the way they throw red paint on old ladies wearing fur coats, but never the leather-clad bikers.
Eid spelled backward is Die.
truedat
i’d be willing to bet, that if you looked at the school calendar, christmas wouldn’t be on it.
‘Eid spelled backwards is Die -’
Suppose there’s anything behind this - ?
Can’t believe I have not seen that before!
I ‘see’ so many other words backwards.
Like pots and pans - - ‘stop and snap.’
Spit - ‘tips.’
I hear others coming - - - !
Quick: tell PETA. Oh, they’re not interested because they are afraid the Muslims would be offended and kill them? Oh, that clarifies things.
And such a graceful, ladylike stance.
1Cor 8:1 Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.
1Cor 8:2 And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.
1Cor 8:3 But if any man love God, the same is known of him.
1Cor 8:4 As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol [is] nothing in the world, and that [there is] none other God but one.
1Cor 8:5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
1Cor 8:6 But to us [there is but] one God, the Father, of whom [are] all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom [are] all things, and we by him.
1Cor 8:7 Howbeit [there is] not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat [it] as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.
1Cor 8:8 But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.
1Cor 8:9 But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.
1Cor 8:10 For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol’s temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols;
1Cor 8:11 And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?
1Cor 8:12 But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.
1Cor 8:13 Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.
