The penalty for not having health insurance this year is more than doubling. Coloradans have until February 15 ,2015, to shop for plans through the Connect for Health Colorado market place.

Under the Affordable Care Act individuals are required to either have health insurance or pay a penalty at tax time. That penalty is either a flat rate or two percent of family income.

This year, that rate is $325 per adult, $162 per child and up to $975 per family. Compared to last year the fine for an adult was only $95 and up to $285 per family.

That wasn't right for George W Bush to punish Coloradans in such a manner.

No matter what the law and supreme court say, the government has no right to tax/fine anyone for not buying insurance.

Not only do I not want this crappy insurance, I can’t afford to get it. Period. I can’t purchase what I can’t afford. They can kiss my rear end, I can’t afford to purchase it. This is crazy!

Both my wife and I have noticed that at the offices of our regular doctors, things are way less crowded these days.

I theorize the jumbo deductibles on policies these days has really cut back visits.

Don’t want to pay? I don’t blame you....

Here are a few options. I’m sure there are other options.

Join the exempt crowd

1. Say you are a Muslim. (Muslims are exempt)

2. Renounce your citizenship.

3. Sue the government, we have an illegal pResident.

Some docs here in TX are becoming concierge doctors. You pay a set rate monthly or yearly. Office visits are free and they usually provide a direct number to contact them for scripts, emergencys. I’ve heard from $1500 - $3000 per year for the service. They probably negotiate fees for services if you pay cash. My doc told me it was for his and his patients sanity.

Step 1) Do not ever under any circumstances give the government excess in taxes that you would expect back.

Step 2) When filing for the year, the bottom line number you owe will equal EXACTLY the amount of the Øbamascare fine/tax/whatever the SOTUS deems it this quarter.

Step 3) sign your return and mail it with delivery confirmation. Enclose no funds.

The only way the gub’ment can collect the fine is by taking it from your federal income tax refund. If you make sure you have no refund, they can’t get the penalty. The IRS has no collection provision outside of that.

And after that, people won’t be allowed to buy health insurance until next winter.

That’s Obama’s idea of a free marketplace.

I pay $2,700 this year thru Aetna.
If this ‘concierge’ becomes popular then you can bet the politicians will not allow it. Boehner has millions in healthcare stocks to protect.
