Vietnamese authorities have buried thousands of seized cats many believed to have been alive at the time that were smuggled from China to feed the illegal cat meat trade.
A truck carrying three tons of live cats crammed into bamboo crates was impounded in the Vietnamese capital, Hanoi, on Tuesday. On Wednesday a police officer said they had been buried in accordance with Vietnamese law on smuggled goods.

This is heartbreaking.
Whoever did this to these poor cats is capable of doing this - or worse- to humans.
Is this the second outrage? One story had them crushed to death first.
Sick. Serial killers often begin with killing animals.
Viking kitty alert
I'd expect about 7 more.

Uh, have you forgotten? They did - not that long ago...
Ceiling Cat is crying.
I’m crying too. Kitties are pure love in little fur bodies.
Authorities said this was merely a coincidence.
In 1980, in California, refugees from Indochina were trapping and eating animals, including stray dogs and cats in Golden Gate Park, SF. Califorians were outraged and a state senator presented a bill to the Senate Judiciary committee that would have made it a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to five hundred dollars and a jail term of six months for killing a dog or cat for eating purposes or permitting it to be eaten.

I saw the pictures of kittens being crushed in a dump truck yesterday
Can’t bring myself to post the pictures...

AMEN!
They moved into the Delta area of California in the 80s or so, there were major complaints of neighbors missing their dogs and cats.
This is disgusting.
Ironicially, the freepathon ad that came up when I loaded this article was the one with the cat looking at the books.
I’m an OFWG. My new wife has three kitties. I love them for the creations of God that they are.
I’m also a Vietnam vet. I’ve seen the horror of life made cheap & then exterminated in numbers unimaginable.
This story brings tears. A lost kitten once followed me home & then lived with us for seventeen years.
Love in a furry little bundle. I can’t go on.....
I understand. I’ve had two wonderful kitties who, sadly are no longer here either. I miss them every single day. To me, they were miracles in fur.
Thank you so much for your service to our wonderful country. I’m honored to met you Sir.
So heart breaking!
