Donna Hannigan was one of the original members of the Cape Cod-based group Grandmothers Against Gun Violence. As the group evolves its mission and activities, she said, the focus remains on gun violence as a public health and safety issue, not a political issue.
The goal of Cape Cod Grandmothers Against Gun Violence is to raise awareness about gun violence.

So, the little old white ladies from Cape Cod are going into the inner cities to collect guns from the gang bangers?
No, of course not.
They’re going after the guns owned by law abiding, peaceful citizens.

Background checks are just an excuse to get universal gun registration so they will know how many guns you have when they come to get them.
Gun trafficking is already a federal crime, but Obama and Holder think that they are exempt.
But what about international gun trafficking? I think they ARE exempt from that. :>}

Like nobody knows this stuff is going on. All you have to do is just watch the news. Makes about as much sense as trying to 'raise awareness' about breast cancer.

Start by locking up criminals.

Bunkum. It has never been a safety issue from the original demands by Thomas J Dodd and Emanuel Cellar back in 1962 when they called for “Registration of handguns ONLY! Long guns would not be affected! And a ban on the import of 5 shot Army surplus rifles!”
The ban on 5 shot bolt action rifles was to protect Remington, Winchester and Savage gun makers from cheap competition with $10 dollar MAUSERS and ENFIELDS being imported.
We see how long “Handguns only” demand lasted!

Anytime someone tries to restrict a constitutionally protected right, it’s a political issue.
