Possible Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee says homosexuality is a lifestyle choice like drinking and swearing which is why he can accept friends who are gay, despite his religious convictions.
"People can be my friends who have lifestyles that are not necessarily my lifestyle," Huckabee said in an interview with CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday. "I don't shut people out of my circle or out of my life because they have a different point of view. I don't drink alcohol, but gosh a lot of my friends, maybe most of them, do. You know, I don't use profanity, but believe me, I've got a lot of friends who do. Some people really like classical music and ballet and opera it's not my cup of tea."

Being gay is a lifestyle choice like swearing, drinking? Not on your life. It's like a pro-choice argument, which means there's no such thing. Either a pregnancy is one that ends with a birth of a beautiful human being or if it's terminated, it's murder. There's no third way.
To say, that being gay is like drinking, swearing as that of being a lifestyle choice, you're fooling no one, the least of which are gays.
Huckabee desperately wants to be enlisted in the "Hall of Infamy Worst Campaign Quotes" Ever when he comes up with another odd quote.
Asking him to accept same-sex marriage 'is like asking someone who's Jewish to start serving bacon-wrapped shrimp in their deli'
One of these things is not like the others.
If he isn’t being paid by the DNC, just like those supposed “Baptists” with their signs, I’ll eat my hat.
“Asking him to accept same-sex marriage ‘is like asking someone who’s Jewish to start serving bacon-wrapped shrimp in their deli’ “
It isn’t Jews that are phobic against such food, it would be muslim who would freak the hell out, a Jewish person would simply not eat that menu item him/her self and may even sell it in their deli with no qualms.
It is a mooselimb that would freak out and call a person racist for even suggesting to adding something like that on their menu.
What experience does the Huckster have with any of the three?
Huckabee can re-invent humanity in an infinite number of ways but Maurice Clemmons will live on in having ended Huckabee’s political career even for dogcatcher.
Prior to his involvement in the shooting, Clemmons had at least five felony convictions in Arkansas and at least eight felony charges in Washington.[2] His first incarceration began in 1989, at age 17. Facing sentences totaling 108 years in prison, the burglary sentences were reduced in 2000 by Governor of Arkansas Mike Huckabee to 47 years, which made him immediately eligible for parole. The Arkansas Parole Board unanimously moved to release him in 2000. Clemmons was subsequently arrested on other charges and was jailed several times. In the months prior to the Parkland shooting, he was in jail on charges of assaulting a police officer and raping a child. One week prior to the Parkland shooting, he was released from jail after posting a $150,000 bail bond.
Clemmons' murder of four police officers represents the largest number of law enforcement officers killed by one man in a single incident in U.S. history.
I prefer to compare homosexuality to being adulterous and/or promiscuous.
All three are a sin in the eyes of God and all three are bad for you physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Heh. Huckabee is funny.
Well, they are choices but, FU Huckabee. ..
Something must have happened to get Huck willing to quit Fox in order to tour the camera circuit (unbidden) dispensing moral lectures. I don’t recall him being quite this ...what’s the word..righteous before.
You would think he’d be media savvy enough to know how this makes him look. I understand what he’s saying, but the terms and analogies he employs hedge on being thinly veiled insults to scores of potential voters. Is he sure that he wishes to alienate and enrage that many different voter factions this early in the game? May want to get another speech writer, just like Joni Ernst (BreadBags) needs a new speech writer asap.
Huckabee is a fatuous ass...
Sounds like he’s trying to re-invent the word of God too.
God says homosexuality is an abomination.
That’s about as bad as it gets.
sad, disappointing, lying.
The Old Testament (if one is choosing this as a reference point) frowns on taking the name of the Lord in vain, which would be the closest counterpart to our modern swearing. Depending on how badly that was done and in what circumstances, it could result in losing your life.
Getting drunk in public, maybe not so much for that, but you’d still be responsible for whatever other evils you did while drunk.
So basically when Jesus turned the water into wine, what he was fundamentally saying was, “hey, you guys have a drink or go outside and screw each other, heck it's just a lifestyle choice.”
Wasn't there a time when this imbecile actually seemed to have a brain? What happened? Were we all just fooled?
If people can look calmly at the theology they might see Huckabee is closer than they think.
The rebellious son of the Old Testament who is supposed to be stoned is so bad he is a drunkard among other things. People need to be looking in a mirror for grievous sins and acknowledging the Lord’s offer of mercy in the face of same, before they can hope to minister to America’s homosexuality problem. A “God” who threatens and storms away with no pledge of help to all who sincerely beg it of Him might as well be the devil.
It is evil that we cannot think of why getting drunk and taking the name of the Lord in vain is a staggeringly evil thing! Because it is a life style does not make it excusable.
Homosexuals are not the only people who need to look in the mirror.
Huckahasbeen is getting a little looney with his analogies.
