His dripping elitist contempt for a strong assertive country, coupled to his excuse making for murderous regimes, is repulsive but instructive.
This BS is all too often passed off as eduction in our nation's public schools and universities.
Collectivism is going to need to be defined, enshrined, and then banned in any new Constitution our eventual breakup and/or civil war may involve.
Mad Scientists in the Laboratory of Culture "......................Academia is the laboratory of culture, all politics are cultural, and the Frankfurt School's critical-theory contribution to the Marxist revival was this: if you change the culture, the economics will take care of themselves. In other words, forget the proletariat; it's the students who matter. And, accordingly, the socialist international has shifted from the factory floor to the campus hall. If you doubt this, survey the ideological inclination of any modern American humanities department. This 2012 study the National Association of Scholars prepared for the University of California's Board of Regents is a good place to start
And it's not just journalism schools either. It's also law schools, psych-ed schools, social science schools, and the whole liberal-arts panoply from which society otherwise draws it elite generalists.
So, momma, don't let your babies of either gender grow up to be the useful fools of culturally-Marxist humanities departments either.
If you send your babies to the academy, spend your money teaching them something useful to, or at least not subversive of, free men in free markets."
I wonder why the author didn't mention the tens or hundreds of thousands killed in this "deadly" scare? ?s
Here we are six full years into the Obama administration. All the American actions he decries were taken by Obama.
But the author cannot bring himself to cite Obama in any of his criticisms. He criticizes "America" or "Washington," as if these decisions aren't being made by people, but by faceless institutions.
Lukashenko is Alexander Grigoryevich, who has presided in Belarus for the past 21 years... His sins are two.
Really? The last remaining commie dictator in Europe has committed only two sins in 21 years?
Kiev bails on peace talks and instantly launches an ambitious offensive in eastern Ukraine.
This one is a classic.
Russia invades Ukraine, annexes part of it and is openly preparing to annex more. When Ukraine fights back, IT is the aggressor.
Again, /s.
Oddly enough, I tend to agree with the basic thrust of the article's argument. The US shouldn't be trying to overthrow national governments that aren't inherently focused, as commies and Islamists were/are, on attacking us.
I have no problem with Grigoryevich or Putin. We shouldn't prop them up, but if they leave us alone we should leave them alone.
I wonder if the author would be kind enough to provide the [no doubt] LONG list of names of those who lost their lives as a result of the "very deadly...McCarthyist scare".
I like this nugget: "....miss the point not."
Grand eloquent much?
What I take from this Zinnist is that he's pro-Putin, anti-west and in desperate need of a womp upside the head. Imagine the NYT not leftist enough, where is the new Durant to once again put the proper spin on those pesky Ukraines who are always stirring up trouble. Why can't they just accept their subjugation w/ honor and resignation?
With every passing day the editors at Salon expose themselves as genuine Trotskyites, it really is quite amazing. Someone should tell them that Putin is more of a Czarist and not a communist, he's even appropriated the old two headed eagle as the symbol of the "new" Russia.
He reads like some of our True Conservatives here, but I’ll have to fully read this column later.
That intolerance (under the flag of 'tolerance') is far more insidious than just seeking out people who trying to destroy or undermine our Republic.
Besides, McCarthy was right.
