I was born and raised in California in the 1930's. But the population was less than 15 million then and the quality of life was better. My Dad was a Republican and my Mother was a democrat. I started out being a liberal but at about 30, I felt more comfortable with conservative thinking. As a conservative, I have achieved my goal of a self-sufficent lifestyle as much as possible. I built my house 80% hands-on,pioneered 40 acres from scratch, do my own power and water and grow a large vegetable garden every year. Yes, I do have horses.
