Scenes like this undermine my faith in humanity’s future. First, the local news hypes every snowfall into the Storm of the Century and I would have hoped that people have caught on to it now. Second, even if the storm actually is bad this time, don’t these people have at least a couple days’ worth of food stored up in their homes?

It’s had for those in the Midwest to imagine, but most of the urban dwellers don’t have much food in their homes.

I could go a month and not run out of anything, and several more if need be.

The problem is the remembrance of Hurricane Sandy. A lot of people didn’t believe THAT hype but the hype turned out to be true and a lot of people got caught napping. They were mocked lousy for that on FR. Basically, people in NYC and the Northeast (not matter what their political views)are held up to ridicule on FR. Just a fact of life like libs and rinos hating Sarah Palin.

I get the opposite feeling. These people are looking out for themselves, which is a good thing. Even with a stock of emergency food, it doesn’t hurt to get some more. I would never put anyone down for making an effort to be responsible for their own welfare. The people you should wonder about are the ones who aren’t stocking up and who have no emergency food at all.

It’s (potentially) not just a question of a couple of days.

First, you have to understand just how SMALL apartments in NYC are. Itsby bitsy tiny! No storage space. Normally not a problem because “everything” is available within a block or so.

THEN there’s the very real issue of roads getting cleared to let in new supplies. If the shelves are picked clean today, they get 3’ of snow overnight it’s going to be more than a couple of days till those shops are restocked.

Many of these fools spend a lot of time and energy disparaging preppers. I can assure you there are very few preppers in these pictures.
