..However as to your concern that the character comes across “like a redneck good ole boy and badly in my opinion”...

You should add that I said, specifically "sounding like... and badly......

I have no misconceptions that it is probably a very good movie, but I don't like actors who can't pull off accents trying to do so, and that's what the trailers I saw sounded like, frankly.

Your concerns are not born out in real life reaction to the movie and people telling others it’s a “must see”.

There’s nothing left for me to say about it.

FWIW, the movie guy on Fox (McCarthy) was on Fox and Friends this morning and said it was a terrific movie and that Cooper did a great job. He said he’s seen it 3 times and is going to see it again. He said the 1st time he saw it, he did so on a small screen, so only gave it 4-1/2 stars (out of 5); but, after he saw it on the big screen, he gave it 5. He said he also saw it in Cinemax and it was great, especially the music.

I’ve not seen it yet, but there have been folks on FNC (IIRC, including McCarthy) that said that Cooper really got into the role - he gained weight, grew a beard and watched hours of Chris, spoke to his family, etc.). I also heard on FNC recently that Chris’ family was very pleased with the film - they thought it was a good portrayal of Chris as well as what Vets go through in war and returning home.
