On January 14, Politico Magazine (PM) ran a story suggesting the claim that guns are used for defense purposes more often than ill-intent is wrong, and the whole idea behind “defensive gun ownership” is a “tragic myth.”
PM defined the “tragic myth” as the belief “that millions of gun owners successfully use their firearms to defend themselves and their families from criminals.” They pointed to the dearth of academic support for defensive gun uses (DGUs) in “public health literature” and listed three instances in which a homeowner fired a gun in what they thought was a self-defense situation, but which later turned out otherwise. The gunshot wound was fatal in one of the three incidents.

John Lott has certainly produced numerous rigorous papers on just this question. He actually uses citations.
By the way, if this doesn’t work then all armed guards should be disarmed immediately!

Canyon County Idaho is the 10th best armed county in the nation and yet the crime rate just isn't that high. Most folks simply don't worry about carjackings, robberies, and the like. If guns cause crime the counties in the article I provided the link for should have the highest crime rates in the nation. It’ time to change the narrative: Guns stop crime.

Did I miss the part where they said that 90 million gun owners were not a deterrent to the tyrants that Politico apparently so loves? Notice that leftist aspersions on 2A *never* mention the real reason it was included. Not crime and not hunting.
If gun ownership didn’t chill tyrants, why would the would be tyrants be so hell bent on confiscating guns?

All of this blather is about control of behavior to instill allegiance to the state order. Control the minds and behavior and it is simple to enslave simpletons to do your bidding. The very first step on the road to achieving this is to take away the means for the sheep to resist you. It’s nothing more than that.

The left never stops. The left has decreed that Americans cannot own guns and will keep hammering that message into the American psyche. THE FACT THAT THEY NEVER GIVE UP IS A MAJOR KEY TO THE CURRENT CONTROL OF ALL AMERICAN INSTITUTIONS BY THE LEFT. A LESSON TO BE LEARNED.
