Study: Sea level rise accelerating more than once thought
Santa Cruz Sentinel ^ | 01/14/15 | SETH BORENSTEIN

The world’s oceans are now rising far faster than they did in the past, a new study says.

The study found that for much of the 20th century — until about 1990 — sea level was about 30 percent less than earlier research had figured. But that’s not good news, scientists say, because about 25 years ago the seas started rising faster and the acceleration in 1990 turns out to be more dramatic than previously calculated.

I guess that explains why Guam suddenly disappeared.

This is Good news!! I couldn’t afford beach front in the 80’s. Had to be two blocks away. Now My property is moving up in value as I move closer to the beach!. All is good.

False, sea level rise is actually de-cellerating, NOT increasing faster.

2.8 mm/year now, it used to be claimed as 3.6 mm/year.

Other estimates claim only 1.8 mm/year now.

The fish are peeing less for some reason, and that's making the seas not rise as fast.

The sea level also mysteriously rises every day only to lower hours later, scientists are sure this is linked to climate change as well.

Baloney!

Claim That Sea Level Is Rising Is a Total Fraud

Sea levels began to rise 18k years ago at the end of the last glacial period. They have risen about 135 meters since then which is an average of 7.5 millimeters per year. That is an average of 750 mm per century (29.5 inches) which is far more than the average over the last century.

From 1880 to 2000 sea level rose about 20 cm or just under 8 inches. Far far less than the nearly 30 inches per century average over the last 18,000 years.

This is great and I think we should get behind this movement. As I Speak there are countless thousand of HOMES on the coastline right up against this rising tide. ALL of them are insured under the California FAIR plan., which means TAXPAYERS are stuck with the bill because we SUBSIDIZE it. I propose we Immediately declare that there Shall Be No Living quarters within 1/8 mile from ANY Shoreline in the State and all homes and businesses shall be removed at the property owners expense. Should any property owner refuse, the State shall sieze said property and remove any structure at the Property Owners Expense.

CALL THEIR BLUFF

What has happened is that SUVs, Global Warming, capitalism, and George W. Bush have killed off all the sponges in the ocean, so they can’t hold all that water. Prove it isn’t so.

Nils Axel Morner put out a paper dated July 4, 2013 about sea level measurements. Part of the abstract says “The methodology applied and the views claimed by the IPCC are challenged. For the last 40-50 years strong observational facts indicate virtually stable sea level conditions. ”
And “Best estimates for future sea level changes up to the year 2100 are in the range of +5 cm ±15 cm.”

The Pacific Ocean is sinking.
The Atlantic Ocean is rising.
This is because the Pacific Ocean is much, much larger, and therefore, much, much heavier than the Atlantic Ocean.
