If all that is true, then this man would probably be happier in his home country. Perhaps he should consider relocating AWAY from all the bigots and racists here in this country.
PS - He moved here when he was 19. He is now 56. That means he has been here for 37 years, or 2/3 of his life. WHY does he still have an accent?

I’d say they are much more than that from what I’ve seen...I tried to warn people about the fake middle eastern chamber of commerce’s (set up all over the nation now) true mission years ago but they wouldn’t listen. Now they are going to learn their lessons the hard way...
Geez, it gives me some faith that there are still some good people in California. (Mild sarcasm, I realize there are and have been good people in CA). I firmly believe that verbal abuse via jokes and racial/ethnic epitaphs are required for all immigrants to become American. This may sound strange, but it is my experience growing up, except I didn't grow up with Muslims. There were Micks, Kites, Dagos, WOPs, Hunkies, Pollocks, and yes that dreaded 'N' word, when I grew up. If you had an accent, it was made fun of. If you didn't behave as an American, it was made fun of. On the other hand, there was a level of respect for each other's ethnic heritage/culture/food, etc. You just had to be American first.
Today it is rare that you can find a place where you can provide abuse, err, I mean help, to someone to help guide them along in becoming more American.
As a side note, it’s interesting that so many muslim names have the word “ham” in them.
