A thriving D.C. business is the target of self-described ISIS militants. For the past five months a barrage of phone calls and internet postings have threatened employees. The callers vow to carry out mass murder.
ABC7 News is not identifying the business nor any individuals because of the sensitive nature of these threats.
The business is Jewish owned and some of the threats are anti-Semitic while others are racial or homophobic.
The recent terrorist attacks in Paris have employees worried.
The owner says D.C. police investigated but handed the case over to Homeland Security, which deemed the threats not credible.
Verizon says the calls are traceable but it needs police to ask it to take action.
The business owner says the detectives tell him they must hear from Verizon first.
The business owner and employees say they know of no one who has an axe to grind against them and they are baffled as to why the callers are targeting them.
They of course will be there to draw the chalk lines around the bodies.
Glad this is being reported, though it is pretty vague. I wonder whether there are other, similar cases around D.C. and the rest of the US. If so, all should come to light NOW.
Can we all give a big honking raspberry to all those claims by the government?

Might be off topic, but the last time I dealt with Verizon customer service what should have taken five minutes took two days, one of which I took off for the purpose. You really can’t have that because I’m pretty sure we don’t pay cops to sit on hold with someone’s customer service for days.
Not credible but when it happens they’ll go around saying it fell through the cracks somehow ... we’re okay now, right?
I would tell them that it’s time to “gun-up”. But since it’s DC they probably can’t.
I hope the police are just making it look like they can’t trace the calls so the perps either keep calling, or feel safe and don’t take off.
I hope to God they’re really not this incompetent (giving them the benefit of the doubt).

I’ve been wondering the same thing myself. Lately, there has been a lot of positive publicity surrounding the famous Jewish “appetizer” shop (non-Kosher) Russ & Daughters on the lower east side. I thought: what would happen if Islam-o-Nazis decided to take it out? Or Katz’s, the famous deli that is located in the same area?
One thing I learned early, conference call is your friend.
the cops... hand it over....to the DHS....who deem it not worth pursuing

Start threatening the local mosque/Islamic center (armory and jihad training facility, IOW) with the same and see how credible those threats become!
