Major Russian TV network says US intelligence carried out the Charlie Hebdo attack

LifeNews, a mainstream Russian TV news channel, aired a segment on Thursday in which a regular guest and "expert political analyst" stated that the Charlie Hebdo terrorist attack in Paris had in fact been carried out by United States intelligence agencies.

The guest, Alexei Martynov, suggested that US intelligence had launched the Charlie Hebdo attack in order to sabotage the global effort against Islamist terrorism, which he argued Russia is leading. Martynov also argued that the attack was meant to pressure French President Francois Hollande into maintaining Western economic sanctions against Russia.

The segment ran for 10 minutes, during which Martynov's views were presented as fact and went largely unchallenged. A video of the interview can be seen on LifeNews' website. The network announced the segment in a tweet reading, "Political analyst Alexei Martynov: Terrorist attack in Paris staged by US intelligence agencies." LifeNews is not state-run, but it is avowedly pro-Putin, and has a large viewership in Russia that surpasses some major state-run networks.

Martynov runs the pro-Putin think tank International Institute for New States and is sometimes featured on Russian state and pro-Kremlin media as an expert analyst. He has also been quoted by The Nation as an expert on United States foreign policy.

Marynov further argued that the United States is seeking to heighten European fears of terrorism, thus making European leaders reliant on US counterterrorism and cementing American hegemony over Europe. This is aimed specifically at Russia, he said, and meant to prevent European countries from rejecting the United States and allying instead with Russia, as he implied they would surely do anyway.

Now we know where the “911 was an inside job” fantasy came from.

I’m sure it’s some job that the neocons headed by Bushitler were behind.

This guy should have an MSNBC show soon.

Sorry, I live in Russia, and I’ve never heard of LifeNews. I’ll have to go turn on the TV later and see if I can find it. It certainly isn’t a major network.

So, what is RT saying? Why would this attack sabotage the global war on terror? It would probably make people more angry and determined. Who knew the Russians were the world leaders against islamic terror until they brought attention to themselves? Crazy, stupid, and counterproductive!!!

It sounds like a typical Putin (FSB/KGB) disinformation to sow doubt. Probably other Putin-approved press elements will pick it up.

Having watched a fair bit of RT....I’d say that roughly fifty percent of it is propaganda material and done at a much better rate than twenty years ago. Occasionally, they will do one single documentary piece which is decently reported and accurate.

I sat there three weeks ago and watch a Larry King interview on RT...making himself and the guest look like idiots. This went on for twenty minutes and I was just shaking my head...Larry looked like some one-star host and I could have gotten better questions from my barber.

From Wikipedia-LifeNews... The TV channel was officially launched in September 2013. As of February 2014, it had a potential audience of 30 million subscribers.

Its owner is Ashot Gabrelyanov, who is pro-Kremlin.
According to an article in The Moscow Times an influence on their recent success has been loyalty to the Kremlin. “The father, Aram Gabrelyanov, refers to President Vladimir Putin as the “father of the nation”

Russians may see themselves as the repository of what's left of Christendom. After all, The US and EU and NATO are arming Al Qaeda, Libia, Syria, Ukrainian Nazis - you name it. Islam is now free to conquer Europe - the New World Order is running interference so that middle class and grassroot Christians are helpless to defend themselves.

Russia survived communism - 70 years of hell and has no intention of returning to the New World Order version of Communism 2.0.

American foreign policy is all for the express purpose of tearing down the fabric of western, Christian Civilization while pretending to do otherwise. The pot boils slowly away while Christians die everywhere. A beading in Oklahoma is hushed up, a beheading in London is old news. The New World ORder talking points are in concrete - Obama called for investigation into the motives of the Paris gunmen. Only fools believe the lies he tells.

Russia is not a protestant country and views the Roman Church as blacksliders and american protestants as deep down heretics.

The future of Christianity is not in America - there are more Christians in China than Communists...

Pro-Kremlin propaganda is actually full of that and other anti-American conspiracy theories.

Just look around this garbage http://www.globalresearch.ca/ and many similar Kremlin financed “NGOs” and “news outlets”.
