Liberals are evil, and the traitor who wrote this ruling is clearly a liberal.

These people are pushing America towards another 1861.

The PRIMARY function of a government is to protect its borders and identity as a nation. This was seriously degraded by the previous idiot in office and is being totally destroyed by the current fool.

We will have to reach some kind of reasonable accommodation regarding people who have been here some time, but it MUST be PRECEEDED by secure borders and accurate tracking of visa holders.

And it damn well needs to be done by elected legislators reflecting the will of their constituents on the matter. NOT by the US CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (who the HELL elected them to ANYTHING), - unconstitutional executive decrees, or Courts like this one issuing unconstitutional ukases.

Whatever they are teaching in law schools, it’s evidently not the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers as the Founding States had intended for those powers to be understood.

There’s several overlapping problems with the misguided decision of this federal appeals court imo. Some of these problems are noted as follows.

To begin with, the states have never amended the Constitution to make not having to prove citizenship before voting an enumerated right. So the states are free to prohibit people from voting if they cannot prove citizenship imo.

In fact, note that even if a person is a citizen, the Supreme Court clarified in Minor v. Happersett that citizenship does not guarantee the right to vote.

Also, if the state legislatures still controlled the Senate, I don’t think that the federal voting form in question would have seen the light of day. So this issue is arguably just another example of problems with the ill-conceived 17th Amendment imo.

Accommodation? Leave and we won’t hold your crime against you, stay and be deported on contact and be forever barred from entry and if we catch you here again you’ll be on a chain gang for the rest of your life.

That’s a reasonable accommodation. Law breakers and invaders are given amnesty but are not rewarded by being allowed to stay. It’s only fair to those who followed the law, and it’s more than fair to those who broke-in to our country.

Anyone who knowingly employs an illegal alien should spend time in prison.

There is always the flip side of this coin. If you're a Christian, you should read the Old Testament prophets. When God gives a country to people who love Him, and when those people turn their backs on Him, He gives the country to their enemies.

The genocide/holocaust known as abortion. The perversion known as homosexuality which has even permeated our public school system, thus ensuring our total moral collapse. The removal of Christ from schools, government, the media and, in many cases, even from some religions who claim to be Christian.

I contend God is doing what He's always done, viz. taking back His gifts.

From a philosophical view, I agree with you. From a pragmatic view, I’m not certain it’s possible, except for the part about employers who knowingly hire them. Heck, some large businesses like certain fast food joints actively RECRUIT them in other countries to come here.

But what do you do with somebody who has worked and lived here for some time, paid taxes here, never broke the law here, has raised kids here, and has learned our language, and, to all intents and purposes, he (or she) and their children consider themselves Americans?

The blame here is on this administration and a succession of previous ones, which failed to uphold their Constitutional oaths.

I guess TX is going to be one of the only states left in the US.

I don’t see why we have to reasonably accommodate the criminality of long-term illegal aliens. Send them, and their children, back from whence they came.

“...never broke the law here...”

Well, that rules out illegal immigrants.

> paid taxes here

SSN fraud

> never broke the law here

Their being here is breaking the law. Also, see above re taxes

> But what do you do with somebody who has worked and lived here for some time, paid taxes here, never broke the law here, has raised kids here, and has learned our language, and, to all intents and purposes, he (or she) and their children consider themselves Americans?

They’re illegal aliens and they know it. Deport on contact.

They broke the law by coming here. Would you let a thief, a kidnapper, a murderer, or any other American criminal, go unpunished because he did not commit any more crimes? If we are going to effectively end illegal aliens, we must consistently deport every last one of them, no matter how long they have been here, no matter how wonderful they may be. They have committed a criminal acts, they have contributed to the break-down of law and order, they are thieves, trespassers/invaders; enemies of our country

We won so much at the state levels, but with the Senate voting so many judges into life long positions, we are in big trouble at the court level for decades.

The fix is in.

Face it, people: The Constitutional Republic of the Founders' design is GONE. GONE GONE GONE. The question is, what are we going to do now?

Peace, Ray76,

The appropriate response is for the States to ignore this idiotic ruling and refuse to issue voter IDs without proof of citizenship. We must not obey unconstitutional dictates and rulings. When we do, we advance the progressive cause. Only by active resistance can we return the bloated federal behemoth to its constitutional boundaries.

Peace, Zulu,

The blame here is on this administration and a succession of previous ones, which failed to uphold their Constitutional oaths.

A significant portion of the blame resides with us, the voters. We have allowed our representatives to act unconstitutionally. We have not stopped them. They are our servants. We should treat them as such!

The ultimate blame does lie with the voting public. You are correct.
