I’ve never fired a machine gun before. Well, at least I’m pretty sure I haven’t.
If I were in Orlando, I’d pay to give it a try.
At the cost of ammunition today, I can see $20 gone with the pull of a trigger.......LOL!
Several places in Texas that do the same. I suspect you can find gun ranges that rent full auto in most states that lean to the conservative side.
No minors, period. Too many tactical problems including liability and safety issues. Maturity is also not sufficiently developed enough pre age 21 with the children iof our society and age. Just my.02
RE the picture of Michael Rodent: When SGT Mr. niteowl77 Jr was still SPC Mr. niteowl77 Jr, he had the misfortune of being extraordinarily proficient with an M203 one fine day, and that piece of pipe was subsequently hung around his neck (figuratively) when he was in that unit. I told him that based on what people had told me, he'd probably have liked the M79 even less.
Mr. niteowl77
I got to fire our unit’s MK 19 during the 90-91 war. Damn I wish we would have had white phosphorus rounds for that thing.
It’s loads of good clean fun and instructional too, it gives you a new appreciation for marksmanship. :)
When my dad was stationed at Quantico he took my brother and me to the range (after church!) and we got to shoot a machine gun on a tri pod. It was so cool. I was 6 and my brother was 8.
Warped us for life, har har
Check your local shooting range. Often the larger ones will have a couple of full auto weapons you can rent. It won’t be cheap, and the ammo will be even more expensive but if you really want to try it you might not have to travel that far.
Nothing like the feel of twin Browning .50’s blazing away from the gun tub on a Swift Boat!
I'm glad I got the chance to do it, but it's not something that I would pay the hundreds of dollars for an annual license to do so, legally.
Aside from the high cost of ammunition...
Waste of ammo, IMHO.
I'd pick a shotgun for civilian wide area defense over any full auto weapon.
But I do think it's a good thing, that people can pay to go somewhere and experience it, under controlled circumstances.
