The weather in western Europe has improved so that Allied aircraft can help defend against the German offensive. The Germans are still on the move. Reports say they have passed Bastogne and are headed west. Other reports say Americans in that city are still holding out. Nazi spies in American uniforms have been reported as far behind the Allied lines as Paris.
Singiser reports on news from the eastern front and Greece.
In the Pacific Theater U.S. Army and Navy air power is being used against the Bonin and Volcano Islands, including Iwo the Kuriles, Palaus, Yap, the Marianas, the Marshalls, the Japanese home islands, and Luzon. On Leyte the Japanese are running out of space and troops.
Horse racing in the U.S. is set to end on January 3.
