Slashing the Leviathan: Your Input Sought! (VANITY)

I’m interested in the current Federal funding bill.

Below is a list of Federal Departments, starting with the original four enumerated in the Constitution.

For each Department, what percentage of their current budget do you think should be granted in this budget?

Are there any departments that should be eliminated entirely from Federal funding and purview?

After this list there are links that further flesh out the extent of the Federal leviathan, with further “government agencies and corporations” that could perhaps have their budgets cut or entirely eliminated.

Enjoy!

Departments of: (with my recommended funding levels)

1. Defense: 150%

2. Justice: 50%

3. State: 25%

4. Treasury: 25%

5. Agriculture: Eliminate

6. Commerce: Eliminate

7. Education: Eliminate

8. Energy: 25%

9. Health and Human Services: Eliminate

10. Homeland Security: Eliminate

11. Housing and Urban Development: Eliminate

12. Labor: Eliminate

13. Interior: 10%

14. Transportation: 50%

15. Veterans Affairs: 50% (Vouchers, not hospitals)

A few years back someone posted a link to all the California government departments organized alphabetically. I saw the link and perused the list. The take-home message was that California has more restrictions, rules, guidelines, mandates, regulations, and requirements than North Korea. California is quite simply the most law-topheavy real estate on the planet. And it’s just a microcosm of the larger Federal government. So out of control it would be comical if not so tragic.

It is TIME to DownSize DC!

It is Time to entirely Close many Rogue/Unconstitutional Departments, including their SWAT Teams.

Any worthwhile functions remaining should be turned over to the States to administer.

I believe 50% of the Federal Government could be eliminated and not only would they not be missed, but people would actually feel the reduction in undue burden they create.

Eliminate the nests that support the subversive leftists that inhabit our Federal Government, by eliminating their job. Let them find a “real job”.

Then, force the Congress to telecommute most of the year from their home district. They have no business in DC most of the year colluding against the citizens of the nation.

Texas legislature meets every other year, unless the Governor calls for a special session. It has worked well for Texas for a long time. There is no reason for it not to work for the Fed Gov.

I believe they would be subsumed under their respective departments, and yes - they should be largely eliminated or severely changed in scope and mission, or both.

The creep of the Federal leviathan is merely one part of the Communist “Long March Through the Institutions.” David Horowitz’s quote of the anonymous 60’s radical leader during a campus takeover explains their mind-set perfectly:

“The issue is never the real issue: the real issue is always the revolution. The cause is never the real cause: the real cause is always the acquisition of power.”

That’s what the Communists/Socialists/Stateists in the leviathan are all about, always and forever, no matter what spin they put on it. Never forget that. They are the enemy.

There isn’t a department that could take a 50% cut, including the DoD. They waste more than they spend on actual defense.

Its a start, but you really need to trim Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid to make a dent in government spending and activity.

Uh . . . I believe you’ll find those agencies/programs under the Department of Health and Human Services, and I believe you’ll find that my original post said I’d eliminate that department . . . .
