We shall see. Gruber has had plenty of help. The President, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Kathleen Sebelius are more to blame for Obamacare’s troubles than Mr. Gruber even if he is the program’s “architect.”
Jonathan Gruber in his now famous panel discussion at Penn simply told the truth as he saw it. A key reason, the key reason, Obamacare limped its way across the finish line was because of the deception employed by its champions. The ignorance of the American people, Gruber explained, was to be manipulated for their own good, and it was.
And truly, from start to finish Obamacare has been one well documented lie after another.
But now the establishment is a afraid that Gruber may have screwed everything up for the President and for the president’s signature program. Politico laments, “Why the hell did Jonathan Gruber say that? And that? And that? And (sigh) the other thing?”
Not, “Why did Gruber help to construct such a bad law?” Not, “Why did the architect and the administration make deception a core component of Obamacare?” But, “Why did he say that?”
Politico is concerned about the “optics” of Mr. Gruber’s candid moment(s). (“Optics” is one of the worst political buzzwords ever by the way. One can’t walk into a conference on anything in Downtown Washington without hearing some wonk talk about the “optics” of such and such.) Many in the DC chattering class are afraid that Obamacare could actually fall apart in the courts largely because of Gruber’s very public “misstep(s).” *
But there is no call for repeal of the law within the establishment media. After all the country has gone through with Obamacare, the increased premiums, the outright lies coming from the administration throughout the rollout, the exemptions to the law given to favored businesses and unions, the disastrous website, the fact that billions and billions of taxpayer dollars are now being channeled directly to the big health insurance companies and Big Pharma via Medicaid, the only people who are saying it might be best to just scrap at least most of the law are the partisan Republicans.
It’s time now for the establishment media to stop talking about just the “optics” of the law and the people involved with the law, and to instead focus on how we can best unwind this beast. I am aware that this means a significant loss for many on the so called Left but the Left might as well start discussing it now if it wants a place at any future healthcare policy table. I understand that this is a bitter pill. But on some level it is one even the establishment media is going to have to swallow.

Ever since the videos started popping up, one after another, America has come to know Gruber—the MIT economist who worked closely on both Obamacare and Romneycare—as the guy who thinks voters are “stupid.” And the guy who thinks Obamacare was passed because of trickery. And who says, ha-ha, voters don’t understand economics. For a while, Fox News didn’t have to bother running anything else…
…For just about everyone else who has dealt with Gruber, though—Democrats, academics, policy wonks, and the health care reporters who used to call him regularly for catchy quotes about what the latest Obamacare development really means—the videos are just head-scratchers. He’s a smart guy, everyone says, and he has been a hugely successful economist who clearly knows his health care policy. So they’re all coming back to the same question: Why the hell would he say that? Does he really believe it?
Of course he believes it and that is why the pro-Obamacare folks are so concerned. This is not a legit question at this point given the evidence.
What really infuriates the Obama administration and congressional Democrats at the moment, however, is what Gruber said about the central issue in the latest Obamacare lawsuit to go before the Supreme Court: whether the law actually allows subsidies for people who get their health insurance through the federal marketplace that covers 37 states, not just people who get it from state-based marketplaces. If the justices decide that it doesn’t—thanks to the way one section of the law is worded—it can gut most of the law.

The Democrats released the Torture Report (most of which is old, already known info) TODAY, for only ONE reason.
To take your attention away from Gruber admitting that the Democrats played the American People for SCHMUCKS, lied to you about Obamacare, THEN LAUGHED ABOUT HOW STUPID YOU ARE....
Lots of connected Dems, like Gruber, are getting FILTHY STINKING RICH off of Obamacare, while the average American is finding day-to-day life harder, because of it.
Understand this:
The Torture Report is less damaging to Democrats than today’s Gruber Confession.
In cooperation with much of the Dem-biased mainstream media, the headlines will all be about torture, and blaming REPUBLICANS, while the Gruber Confession, which could put a lot of Democrats IN PRISON, is buried on page 6.
The Daily Show will be doing faked-outrage skits about this, and they won’t be mentioning Gruber, or how Democrats got rich with John Stewart’s help, mocking anyone who dared to warn about the TRUTH of Obamacare.
That is the sad truth....

Why would he say such things? Because the left has been drunk with hubris, and they are only just beginning to get a little sober. The massive hangover still awaits (I pray this is so, anyway).
