Attorney General Eric Holder will announce the Justice Department's release of its long-awaited revised racial profiling guidance for federal law enforcement on Monday.
In 2003, the Justice Department issued its first racial profiling guidance under former Attorney General John Ashcroft. That guidance banned profiling based on race and ethnicity, but granted exceptions for national security and border protection. Civil rights groups considered the exceptions a kind of permission to discriminate especially against Muslims in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
The newly revised guidance will expand the characteristics it protects -- beyond race and ethnicity -- to include bans on profiling on the basis of gender, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, and general identity. The guidance applies to federal law enforcement officers and also to state and local officers involved in federal law enforcement tasks. But the new guidance does continue to allow certain exceptions for the Department of Homeland Security.

Racial Profiling
Rule #1 Do not take into account the race of the criminal. Just arrest the perpetrator and throw his butt in jail.
Where in the laws under which DOJ exists do they have authority to dictate how a local police department must operate?? (I speak from a lack of knowledge - but am curious)
IOW, old ladies in wheelchairs are still on the hook.
Every black arrested will now claim he was profiled. (I’m sure many already make that claim)
Whether or not they want to admit it, stereotypes are based in fact. I’ll avoid a white guy with neck tattoos just as much as other racial profiles.

Without reading his new “guidelines” allow me to interpret
them:
When at ALL possible, ticket, arrest, charge and prosecute white people. When at ALL possible, do NOT ticket, arrest, charge or prosecute any NON-WHITE people.”
Sound about right??

Consider that more and more large departments are being placed under a consent decree...placing the DOJ over them. It is imperative that the DOJ find widespread problems...eventually...voila!! Local and state depts will be supervised by federal guidelines...officers will have to go to federal mandated training...etc...
I lived in a Marine town with tattoo shops on every corner. Not only are the artists respectful, I don’t know many Marines without a tattoo. Last night I found 2 books by a former FBI agent on body language profiling. That is what needs to be learned.
