Recently relocated to D’Iberville, MS after another 13yrs spent in Hilo, HI. Recent passing of my wife Jo and the prospect of possibly living with my son in Volcano HI just didn’t sit well with me so I gave away all my household goods, stuffed my remaining holdings in two suitcases, shipped my vehicle and settled here in D’Iberville.
I left the alleged “Aloha Spirit” behind and have embraced real down home southern hospitality.
I’m mostly retired from the U.S. Navy, civil service with the U.S. Air Force at Brooks AFB, San Antonio, TX and a stint with Kilauea Military Recreation Camp on the Big Island, HI.
The Gulf Coast is a jewel and absolutely a fabulous place to live. Granted Hawaii is tolerable but it has incessant VOG, high prices and them stinkin coqui frogs. I now have peace and quiet, air to breath and water that comes outta a controlled pipe, rather than tapping the fruits of local rainstorms.
