Dem anger flares over pregnant lawmaker (RATS war on real women?)

A meeting of House Democrats flared up on Tuesday over the increasingly thorny issue of whether a pregnant member should be allowed to vote from afar in the party's leadership elections this week.

Democratic leaders, including Rep. Nancy Pelosi (Calif.), have denied a request from Rep. Tammy Duckworth (Ill.), who lost both of her legs in the Iraq War, to waive the Democratic rule barring proxy votes. Duckworth, 46, is in the last stages of a pregnancy and her doctor won't allow her to travel back to Washington to vote in person.

The denial has angered a number of Democrats, who aired their discontent during Tuesday's caucus meeting in the Capitol, after members reelected Pelosi and her top lieutenants as leaders in the next Congress.

So angry that they voted for Pelosi again and won’t go on the record with any news agency. We just get a bland, banal, “Democrats are soo angry” line from the Democrat Party’s media arm.

For me, that’s not really saying much.

RATS are completely unhinged now.

Do they see amnesty and a permanent electorate slipping from their hands?

Well, suppose a guy Congressman is in a hospital, which has happened. Can he phone in his vote? It’s never been allowed.

I agree, colorado tanker. The rule has been in place for some time, and it’s not likely that a waiver would be granted for a hospitalized male. No reason to allow this one, either.

They would have allowed the Democrat pregnant woman to send in a proxy, but that would have meant they would have to have allowed it for the Obama’s Democrat men also.
Until the baby is delivered alive and well it is simply a wish for a child and everyone is entitled to a wish./s

Duckworth is the token veteran for the Chicago-Illinois-Dem-Combine.

She agreed to carry their water for her seat. To her ultimate loss.

Lay down with dogs, get fleas.

Pelosi argued that allowing Duckworth to vote by proxy could open the floodgates to other members requesting similar exceptions in the future.

Anyone else who loses two legs and is in the final stages of pregnancy should have the same exception.

Best of luck to her. Having a child at 46 is quite a feat.

Oh, that's sad, Duckworth thought she would be able to exercise white privilege -- clearly her legs having been blown off in the first place was part of the Republican War on Women.
