Missouri's gay marriage ban thrown out; St. Louis issuing licenses

A judge overturned Missouri’s ban on gay marriage Wednesday, and St. Louis immediately began issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

The state’s ban violated the 14th Amendment’s equal protection clause and due process clause, St. Louis Circuit Judge Rex M. Burlison wrote in his ruling. “Any same-sex couple that satisfies all the requirements for marriage under Missouri law, other than being of different sexes, is legally entitled to a marriage license,” he wrote.

St. Louis ended up issuing marriage licenses to four same-sex couples Wednesday afternoon, and more are expected in the days to come, said Jennifer Florida, St. Louis' recorder of deeds and vital records registrar.

Elections have consequences, and the consequence for Democrats and the gays will be the passage of a Pro Traditional Marriage Amendment to the US Constitution.

We the Judges of the United States of America do hereby override the will of the people and call up down, black white, good evil and whatever else we want. Things must be viewed as the same which are fundamentally and biologically not the same BECAUSE WE SAY SO. Or else....go to jail, sacrifice your job, your business, etc.

America: Land of the used to be free and home of the Judicial Tyrants.

St. Louis liberals - the unwanted gift that just keeps on giving. Get rid of these liberal judges. I really hate the way these judges are trashing our country.

I wrote a reply on that thread, basically they have a right to be here as long as they do not advocate the homosexual agenda. I am opposed to the homosexual political program (largely pushed by heterosexual liberals). Ordinary homosexuals are just sinners and we are to love, pray, and witness to them.

No. One is a particularly vile type of rapist (and a sinner going to hell). The other is just a sinner going to hell. Sinner get witnessed to. Criminals get jailed first, witnessed to after.

This contradicts Scripture.

Homosexual relations are a sin referred to throughout the Bible as an abomination.

As a Christian, one must put God's Law Word, the Bible, above the civil laws. The Bible gives the Christian a higher standard.

America decriminalized sodomy over about the past 50 years and did not yet decriminalize the rape of children, yet the Bible has always held that rape and sodomy were both sins - and the Bible simply does not say that a pedophile is a "particularly vile type of rapist" anywhere in the text.

The Word of God is a two-edged sword - it divides those who love Christ from those who hate him. Preach God's Word to sinners, yes. Contend with them, for the sake of Christ's Kingdom. As many as will REPENT - admit they are sinning, admit what they are doing is a sin, and PUT OFF THE OLD MAN, be BORN AGAIN (1 Peter 1:23) - will hear the Word and follow Christ. Those who do not repent are damned. That is why the Gospel message is never preached in vain.

Luke 12:51 "51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:"

Scripture can no more be used to rationalize being friendly with sodomites than it can be used to rationalize being friendly with pedophiles, thieves, murderers, adulterers or fornicators (yes, any sexual relations outside of marriage).

1 Corinthians 6:9 "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,"

So, the State Constitution means nothing to STATE judges anymore?

We have completely crossed the Rubicon of depravity now. There is no rationale to ban anything.

They learn in law school that they ARE the law. Watch for traffic-court judges to start reversing the direction of one-way streets.
