As it stands today, Republicans will add seats in the House and recapture the Senate on Tuesday.
However, the near-certainty is that those elections will be swiftly eclipsed by issues of war, peace, immigration and race, all of which will be moved front and center this November.
Consider. If repeated leaks from investigators to reporters covering the Ferguson story are true, there may be no indictment of officer Darren Wilson, the cop who shot Michael Brown.
Should that happen, militant voices are already threatening, All hell will break loose. Police in the city and 90-some municipalities in St. Louis County, as well as the state police, are preparing for major violence.
After flying out to Ferguson to declare, I am the attorney general of the United States. But I am also a black man. Eric Holder has once again brought his healing touch to the bleeding wound.
Yesterday, Holder said it is pretty clear that there is a need for wholesale change in the Ferguson police department.
But, Holder notwithstanding, that is not at all clear.
Should the grand jury decide that Wilson fired in self-defense in a struggle with Brown over his gun, and fired again when the 6-foot-4 300-pound teenager charged him, what would justify a purge of the Ferguson police department or the dismissal of Chief Thomas Jackson?
What exactly have the Ferguson cops done to deserve the remorseless vilification they have received?
Yet, as St. Louis is bitterly divided over this incident and how it has been exploited, so, too, will be the nation, should November 2014 provide a replay of the urban riots of yesteryear.
And the president himself will invite a social explosion if he proceeds with White House plans for an executive amnesty for millions of illegal aliens residing in the United States....

Popcorn and bullets. What a lovely combo.
I wish that .22LR was as easy to find as Orville Redenbacher.
Against a backdrop of Ebola and Obama implementing “immigration reform” by executive order soon after losing control of the Senate....
The Senate and House have absolutely nothing to do with any reaction in Fergusen Missouri. The president and the justice department have a part, but some notion that a republican senate and house are involved in that city is ridiculous.
What exactly does Brad Wenstrup, 2nd Ohio, have to do with a cop/perp shooting in Missouri? Answer: absolutely nothing.
Could someone make a gun that loads with popcorn kernels?
The clowns made the same threats about the Zimmerman case. There’ll be a little bit of acting out by the Occupy people, a lot of whining from the academic libs, and life will go on.
Come to think of it, they also made the same threat if all four Rodney King cops weren’t convicted. It’s their standard “I want thing MY way” tactic.
The Missouri drama is about raising racial hatreds when nothing else seemed to be getting Democrats in motion. Barack Obama was a disaster, there was no magic in the Negro to achieve anything that really made Democrats happy. So in a way yes there is a connection.
If Republicans can gain and keep a leadership role, Democrats will frenzy themselves into a living pageant to stupidity.
We hope the liberals see the vanity of it all and wash their hands of it. But having slathered it all over themselves, that is going to be difficult.
I predict that the President himself will explicitly encourage rioting. This will be his excuse to claim absolute power.
I think another big fight will be the continuing resolution. How will Obama pay for amnesty?
Ferguson is a non-story after Tuesday. It failed it’s political purpose. There may be a few Occupy vermin left who will try to re-create the 60’s but that’s it.
And millions of us won't be able to watch it on CNN - because we have DISH TV ...
You are correct. It’s being kept in the news for Nov.4. That’s why the leaks, which may or may not be true. Besides, November is too cold and rainy for comfortable rioting.
The Republicans rolled over for him on funding ObamaCare, why should we think they'd fight this?
(Especially when they're pretty blatantly pulling for amnesty themselves.)

Riots will help blacks like strikes help unions.
Bring it.
“I think another big fight will be the continuing resolution. How will Obama pay for amnesty?”
The continuing resolution is going to be tough on R’s in the Senate. Their votes will actually count.
