Cruz: Hillary will win if GOP runs a Moderate in 2016
The Washington Examiner ^ | October 30, 2014 | Kelly Cohen

Neither Ted Cruz nor Jeb Bush have declared 2016 Republican presidential bids, but that won't stop the two from firing shots across the bow.

The Texas Senator took a jab at the former Florida governor on Thursday, saying during an appearance on CNBC that he is too moderate to run and win votes.

Cruz was asked about Bush and other candidates stemming from the Republican Party’s establishment wing — Arizona Sen. John McCain and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, for example — and their consistent failure to win presidencies.

“Jeb has not declared his candidacy. I like Jeb. I’m a fan of Jeb Bush’s. I’m going to let him decide if he’s running first and let the primary voters make a decision,” Cruz said. “But I will say this: We need to learn from history, we need to look to history and what works and what doesn’t.”

“[I]f we run another candidate in the mold of a Bob Dole or a John McCain or Mitt Romney, we will end up with the same result, which is millions of people will stay home on Election Day, which is what happened for all three of them,” Cruz said. “And if we run another candidate like that, Hillary Clinton will be the next president.”

Hillary Clinton has yet to officially declare her bid for president, but she is the Democrat frontrunner by a massive margin.

A RealClearPolitics average of polls shows an extremely crowded Republican field, with Bush in second and Cruz eighth.

That is the honest to goodness TRUTH!!! If we don't offer a stark contrast to the DemocRATS and if we keep nominating RINOs we will never occupy the White House again. People have got to have some "red meat" to chew on vote. to energize them to vote.

Conservatism sells every time it is offered. RINO’s only muddy the water and blur the lines.
Ever noticed how election signs anymore don’t depict the party of the candidate?

Same with some TV ads. The ones I’ve seen for local elections don’t directly mention the candidate’s party affiliation. You might find it in the last scene which says who sponsored the ad, but more often than not, the sponsor is a PAC.

What the GOPe has either never figured out, or has and doesn’t give a damn about, is that when people want a Leftist, they want the biggest one they can find.

So going Leftist light, does nothing for us.

If you want to pull people away from a Leftist, you have to offer an alternative, not a tenth layer carbon copy.

Ted Cruz is the go to guy.

You are exactly right. In 1976 the “Rockefeller Republicans” succeeded in labeling Ronald Reagan as an extreme, right-wing, nut. They got their guy nominated; Gerald Ford who was 24 karat Moderate. He got his butt kicked by a Georgia Peanut farmer. In 1980, the Conservatives stepped up to the plate. Reagan won the nomination and the election (in a landslide) and did a “repeat performance” in 1984.

We need another Ronald Reagan and the closest person to being that is Ted Cruz. They call him a right-wing wacko, but in January 2017, they’ll be calling him “Mr. President”. The guy is brilliant.

Cruz is a man of real unwavering substance. The country is dying because this country has been stuck on stupid electing “stylish” politicians who hide their evil agenda beneath slick appearances. This is on both sides...communists or crony-statists.

Cruz’ substance is real, its engaging, and he scares those in the elite power structure like Reagan did. He’s the adult in the room. It makes him #1 in my book.

The Democrat candidate in 2016 will win. The Republican Nominee will be a party stalwart deserving of the Party’s recognition. He will also be the Next In Line. Currently three men are jostling for their place in line. Christie will be pushed aside because he is a newcomer and has not the stature of a Party Stalwart. The Nominee will be Jeb Bush or Mitt Romney. The Democrat will become President. Neither Bush nor Romney has any vision to offer beyond better management of the Total State. Neither wants the job anyway and neither will actually wage a serious campaign.

After the election, we may need a few thousand conservatives to “March” to the Republican Party’s Headquarters Building in DC.

Is tossing RINOs out of that building a permitted activity?

and once again, if the Republican candidate doesn’t full fill my fondest wish, I’ll stay home and let the democrats elect another Obama....how’s that working out for you???? I don’t care who the pubbies run, he/she would be a better choice than the best that the demo’s have to offer....by far

Rick Perry was looking better than 2012 but has since teamed up w/ MeCain's old team headed by that RINO, Palin-Hater, Steve Schmidt.

There's a lot of rumors, scuttlebutt, etc. about who is and who is not running for president in 2016.

Perhaps I can relieve some of the anxiety: Despite numerous requests and a good number of "or else" type threats, I AM NOT running in 2016.

Do I really need a sarc tag? Okay, here ya go: </sarc>

Yup.

Democrats will turn out to vote for her. Even true Lefties for whom she is far from their ideal candidate.

If the GOP runs another Romney, large numbers on the Right will sit home again.

Cruz and Walker are the top two in my mind. The others are the media picks, intended to depress conservatives. Some of those Republican insiders, who were in electoral trouble, now owe Cruz for campaigning for them. You can bet that that Cruz will call in the chits that he has earned in this election.
