Horne: State won't appeal; same-sex marriage legal in AZ

Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne on Monday said the state would not appeal a U.S. District Court judge's ruling that strikes down Arizona's ban on gay marriage.

Horne said that any appeal of Judge John Sedwick's ruling would be an exercise in futility and that the only purpose it would be to "waste taxpayers' money."

Horne said that while he disagrees with the ruling, based on legal conclusions he issued an email to the 15 county clerks in Arizona stating that they can immediately begin issuing marriage licenses for same-sex couples.

He said he believed there were about 10 same-sex couples at the Maricopa County Clerk's Office lined up to get marriage licenses during his news conference. There is no waiting period to get married in Arizona, he said.

The Dems wanted the SC to rule on the gay marriage issue a few weeks ago and were upset they did not.

Why?

Dems know that if the states start pushing for conservative judges they can get these rulings overturned. If it's not the law of the federal gov't (Supreme Court ruling) they will not be able to do anything about it.

Iowa already ousted the judges that allowed gay marriage there. Look for many more states to do the same.

I believe Iowa was the 2nd state to make it legal after MA. Purely because judicial activists besieged the state.

As far as revoking it, Iowa has not done so yet. It will take awhile because they have to battle the entire legal system in order to change the legal structures.

Once a bunch of states have installed enough conservative judges they can work together to go the other way on gay marriage. I figure it may take 2 years or so. Maybe less depending on national dynamics (ie how much power the GOP gains in elections and how many more scandals the far left has).

The problem, though, is that these state constitutions are being overturned at the Federal level. That is the anti-1st, 10th, and 14th amendment travesty that is happening.

Look, I believe we are being judged for sin—breaking the commandments of stealing (from future generations), murder (of future generations) and adultery (the denigration of marriage starting with “easy divorce”, leading up to this current perversion of the term “marriage”).

At any rate, there will be a change eventually—God won’t allow a society to continue that violates His law.

The federal level is really really screwed up and it is the one, generally, that is pushing this sick stuff.
