Any travel ban to stop Ebola from spreading to this country would devastate the African nations' economies by destroying the bush meat industry. Americans die as the ape population dwindle

The biggest problem is the inability to track the disease. It actually makes quarantining MORE difficult and could actually cause the disease to spread faster.

Listen to the scientists not the nitwit politicians.

You have to really hate your country and fellow citizens to see things this way.

So the eating of bushmeat is a priority over the lives of American Citizens? Don’t you just love LIBs?

The cat is out of the bag. Imposing a travel ban to and from Liberia alone is pointless now.

We need to seal the borders to the U.S. now. As the disease spreads, more and more people will start coming here -- including people who aren't infected and are trying to get away from it, as well as those who are infected who are seeking medical treatment.

I'm not worried about their economy. I do worry about ours and the overall safety of Americans.

He doesn’t care about our economy as much as he does West Africa’s.

Ask a question of the director of disease control, get a response on economics?

‘’Umm, no, Mr. Director, you head the Centers of Disease Control, your job is, you know, to control disease. We have people who handle economic questions. Would you please restrict your answers to your own area of expertise and control?’’

Triple orders of cajones, please deliver to capital hill....

The CDC is worried about another country’s economy?
Is that in their mission statement?

WTH? WTF? WITHIGOH?

lbryce: Tim Murphy (R. pa ) "A Republican lawmaker claims the real reason the Obama administration is opposing a travel ban for Ebola-stricken African countries
is that U.S. officials are concerned about hurting their economies -- a dollars-and-cents reason, the lawmaker says, doesn't make much sense."

Hey Tim !!
Where is your priority ?
Where is your oath of office to protect the American people ?
We alrady know where Obadinga's priorities are, and what his agenda is..

Screw their economy! This is a deadly virus we’re talking about here! My family should have their lives jeopardized so that West Africa’s economy will survive. Don’t think so!

It’s called the Centers for Disease Control, and it’s purpose, as its name implies, is to control diseases! What a stupid reason, but, then again, we have the JV team in charge in DC. The desperation level must be escalating exponentially.

Send the CDC there and let them worry about another infected country on their own dime

Raise your hand if you care about African Economies. They’re already being shored up by the rest of the world.

No, didn’t think so.

The CDC should have zilch to do with the politics/economy of a foreign land. It’s not their job.

That as ridiculous as hollywood speaking out about politics, as if they have some superior opinion, what with being so much smarter than the rest of us.

It’s as crazy as NASA being tasked with promoting the contributions that muslims make to society....NOT a very big job, I might add.

It’s as crazy as armed forces being sent out to fight a virus.

CDC Worried Travel Ban Over Ebola Would Hurt African Economies
As ignorant a statement as the the fool who last week said we have to continue supporting Liberia because it was founded by former slaves in the 1830s.
Really? After 180 years of "freedom," the country's inhabitants STILL need whitey to take care them?
The fact that blacks in America are no better off than blacks in Liberia says a mouthful.

Who TF cares about marginal economies?

They should be more worried about the economies that run the world, with people who are incented and motivated to find ways to medically mitigate this disease and it’s ability to spread, as well maybe discover a cure.

Besides, those people have been around for thousands of years longer than the rest of us and they haven’t done squat to improve their people nor their conditions.

They are trying to come forward to the 21st century but, it seems grudgingly so.
