Moms Demand SWATting: A disturbing trend on the fringes of the gun-control movement
The National Review ^ | October 2, 2014 | Charles C. W. Cooke

‘You see a GunFilth waving its penis substitute, exit, call police. Armed robbery in progress.” So wrote Twitter user “Little Black Dog” on September 13 of this year.

The injunction was a particularly colorful one, but the idea behind it, alas, is not as uncommon as one might wish. “I see you #opencarry with a gun in public,” a man named “joe villa” threatened earlier this week, “i’m calling the cops. psycho behaving erratic. make your day.” A translation for the more literate among us: “The law be damned; exercise your rights under the law and I’ll threaten your life.”

“Take a look through the comments threads on Moms Demand Action’s Facebook page,” Bearing Arms’s Bob Owens tells me, “and you’ll see a lot of this.” “Not,” he clarifies, from the leaders of the group. But it is a mindset popular among the followers. On there, on the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence — ironically — and on GunFreeZone.net, you’ll notice commenters advocating that people call the police and exaggerate what is going on, hoping to get the cops to come in....

Mom's Demand Action, I got a better name for them, how about Moms Impugning Legal Firearms, or MILF for short?

Just for S and G’s, lets say that a Swatting call was made on a law abiding citizen that was open carrying and was compliant with the commands of the police and yet somehow he was killed by the police. Is the caller an accessory to murder?

A few years ago someone was arrested for misusing 911, that incident in FloriDUH where a woman called 911 because of a dispute with a McDonalds that ran out of chicken nuggets. So if, G-D forbit a scenario like that did play out I'd hope the authorities made an example out of the caller.

It is exactly what the Beavercreek shooting was: a murder instigated by a liberal ass calling in a false report.Because of the anti-gun idiot two people died:the young man holding the toy gun he presumably was going to purchase, and the woman with weak heart who panicked at the sound of the police executing the young man.

The people making these false reports should be charged with murder

Exactly.

Here in Ohio, it's called "inducing panic" and it starts out as a first degree misdemeanor; however, if economic harm or physical harm results, it moves up to a felony charge.

If you are correct, it sounds to me like the 911 caller from the Beavercreek Walmart shooting needs to be tried for murder. In Ohio (and many other states), if a death results from your commission of a felony, you are guilty of murder.

Our local LEO are annoyed at all the instant cell reports they get that turn out to be nothing. Ditto the DNR. The callers and cell phone camera *reporters* are also the types who denigrate LEO every chance they get. So, go ahead, kids, and establish your own record as a crank wasting everyone’s time.

Examples abound, but from personal experience: DH swerved on the way to work to avoid critter carcasses on the road. Cop gets cell phone report of drunk driver. Cop pulls over hubby, sees he is NOT drunk and tells him how irritated he is with the caller. I follow DNR instructions in getting rid of waste from my business. Due to some freak weather, *suspicious* indications of *something* is evident on our roadside, 20 feet above and 100 feet from a waterway. Person unnamed, who has a long-standing personal grudge, reports POLLUTION to DNR, based on color traces of *something*. DNR dude hightails into my drive, ready for confrontation. Little old lady (me) calmly explains situation, shows evidence and explains she is following DNR protocols for totally benign substance that is no way entering the water without filtering through lots and lots of soil. It is evident I am incapable of hauling 40 pounds of liquid waste from point of origin to waterway. DNR dude quiets down, apologizes and leaves. Self-appointed enviro-narc brags around about her *reporting*. Now, no one trusts her and DNR just rolls eyes when she calls. Most of these reports are simply ignored.

Just how can an LEO do anything in a legal open carry situation? Exaggerated reports rebound against the reporter without multiple witnesses and video/photo proof. A waste of everyone’s time.

Sounds like a hate group to me. They are trying to deprive me of my god given rights enshrined in the constitution.
If that were to happen to me, I’d ensure these mutts were hauled in and sued.
That would be assuming I survived the encounter with itchy trigger fingers (LEO)

Good posting in your #34.

I can relate to your DH, as I was pulled over by SIX police cruisers just as I started to enter a freeway about 4 miles from home. It was dark, lots of detours, etc., as new ramps were being constructed on the freeway. I was driving very slowly and trying to find the proper way to go. Police told me another driver had called them and said I was an obvious drunk driver. ....I’d really like to find that person!

If I see a Mom Demanding action I will call the cops and say there is a crazy woman fondling young boys in the bathroom.
Two can play at that game.

In my mind, Richie, the 911 caller who made false claims about Crawford’s behavior, is responsible for the death of Crawford. He should be prosecuted for that crime.

A cop or citizen or both will be killed because of these actions.

When that time comes, MDA needs to be charged with murder.
