Awesome job Sgt. Patrick Hildenbrand — Thank you for being on watch and for your quick actions in saving that young boys life. That young boy may just someday grow up to be a police officer.

God Bless You Sgt. Patrick Hildenbrand — You are a great American!

Hooyah Sgt. Hildenbrand!

For those of us with sufficient long-term memory to remember the sudden AIDS uptick, don’t be surprised if the current Ebola outbreak doesn’t cut down on the frequency of this sort of thing happening. At the latest count, the Ebola patient in Texas has put 80 people on the “exposed” list.

Great job officer!

The formula is simple - cops who protect and serve the citizenry are great people worthy ofr respect; cops who abuse their authority and the citizenry are bad people not worthy of respect.

The majority of police, like this hero cop, fall into the first category.

When I was a little kid, the man in this story is what I grew up thinking a "cop" is.

In all of my first hand encounters with LEOs since then, nothing has changed my opinion, only strengthened it.

It's the stories of other people's encounters with the bad cops that have increased my choice of opinions and possibe first impression for next time.

Just one bad anything will ruin the bunch and that's especially true with a bad cop and community trust and good will.

Fortunately, we have people like this man to show us what "normal" looks and acts like and I am grateful to him and for how people like him choose to serve others with their lives.

If things in our world have gotten so bad that we view LEOs with distrust, imagine how they view us in the general public.

And yet, they still go and do what they have to do, what many are called to do. Like this man did.
