California Proposition 1 Water Bond is Bait & Switch
Breitbart California ^ | 4 Sep 2014 | Chriss W. Street

The $7.5 billion California Proposition 1 Water Bond on the November ballot promises to provide more above ground water storage for the first time in 40 years in order to gain a broad support from Democrats and Republicans. But a close look at the language in the proposition reveals that the initiative is another legislative “bait and switch” that will not complete a single major water storage or delivery system.

I was for this since we sure need more water. But this morning I heard a debate in of all places radio KPFA, far-left from Beserkeley. The guy supporting it, from the "nature conservancy" (!) said basically the same thing as this article. He of course opposes more reservoirs but he said not to worry. The way it is written they will never build one. But it will give $billions to environut groups. Tim Donnelly opposes it as does Americans for Prosperity. I am voting agin it.

Pretty amazing, that every single bond initiative or ballot proposition in the once great state of CA is a fraud attempt. All of them.

The Zero voters eat anything up that sounds like progress. They never read the details, they never look past the sales pitch.

What used to be the envy of those believing in democratic government is now another vehicle for governmental fraud.

Not all of them. The good ones are judged to be illegal by the Circus Courts or ignored.

The rest follow the old Latin dictum: Cui Bono or who benefits. They are frauds which enrich the well off lefties and make jobs for the otherwise unemployed voters of the left.

The best part is, that in the last 30 years EVERY LAST Water Bond issued failed to add ONE DROP of Storage or ONE DROP of improved Delivery of WATER, Just like this one.

Thanks for the info.

Sometimes I do not have time to research the issue before the election - if Tim Donnelly is against it, that’s a good sign this bond has a hidden agenda in it somewhere.

No water in sight and the current drought may last for decades - yet massive condo projects are still being built in my area of So Cal and immigrants continue to pour in and be welcomed by the politicians.

I wonder when water will be used as a weapon against us, as food was in the Ukraine in the 30s.

$7.5 Billion for the Ecotwits, taxpayers get the bill.

That's on top of the $24 billion they've already spent.

"All of them"

Yep, every stinkin' one.

But, on the very rare occasion that a prop comes along that actually does something the people want, the state courts overturn.

That IF the legislature or a Judge doesn't prevent it from going on the ballot.

They do. If the propositions are “for schools” or “for children” or “for the environment” CA voters will vote for these stupid ripoff boondoggles without reading two blasted sentences about what these bills actually do and how they will work, and they will give you their holier-than-thou attitude about how educated and enlightened they are. As long as they are “only” $36.12 a year or $87.23 or $218 extra a year they will vote these things in and in and in year after year, they get zero results because the money is always ripped or siphoned off into union pensions and they just do it again, more, the next year.
