#NCSEN: Only 45% of the white vote FOR Tillis?
The Daily Haymaker ^ | Brant Clifton

Posted on 09/18/2014 3:56:38 PM PDT by ObamahatesPACoal

We posted earlier about the Fox News poll of this race. Digging into the cross-tabs led us to discover a really interesting stat. Hagan, the Democrat, is drawing 33 percent of the white vote — which can be expected for a Democrat candidate in this state and this day and age. Democrats tend to make up for that deficit with a huge turnout by blacks and other minorities. The astonishing thing is that Tillis, the Republican, is only drawing 45 percent of the white vote.

What are Tillis's numbers compared to McCrory's or Romney's?

Romney the Mormon got 67%. McCrory, originally from Ohio, got 70% of the white vote in 2012.

That’s not very surprising. Tillis does not get much of the Freeper vote, they are hoping for a Hagan win. Extrapolate what’s going on here across the state and the numbers make sense to me.

Republicans are making a serious mistake there by not hammering Hagan's unqualified participation in and outright enthusiastic support of Obamacare and its campaign of lies and misrepresentations!

The milktoast ads currently being run for Tillis by the U. S. Chamber and others may allow the teachers' union's ad misrepresentations of his purported actions on education to prevail in the public mind and result in Hagan keeping her seat.

Hagan lied about the reasons for supporting the Trojan Horse (ACA) to give unfettered government power to those who wish to redistribute the earnings of hard working individuals to cronies and those who do not produce. She and her fellow "progressive" regressives claimed it was to "help" folks have better health care.

Hagan participated in the lies which Democrats used for justifying that economic power grab, such as claiming that patients with cancer or pre-existing conditions could not get insurance in the pre-Obamacare marketplace, and she, along with Pelosi and Reid and their President, lied when they assured citizens that "if you like your . . . , you can keep . . . ."

Every day between now and Election Day every citizen should have those quotes and the disastrous results we're now seeing and will continue to see blaring from every radio and TV set.

Instead, they're seeing nice little soft ads by sponsors of her opponent about his work history.

Cancer patients, last year, many of whom had been able to purchase policies since their diagnosis, and were happy with those insurance policies, were forced to spend what, for many, was their last Thanksgiving/Christmas Season online searching for new coverage, all because their insurance carrier was forced by the "rules of the so-called "Affordable" Care Act" to cancel the perfectly good policy they then held. This is a sad fact which few are talking about and one which should lie at the feet of Senators like Kay Hagan!

Families of such patients know the agony the Obama-Pelosi-Reid-Hagan dead-of-night votes brought to their loved ones, some of whom will be reaping the consequences in the coming year or two as well.

Last I recall, Tillis was chosen by the voters and not by Rove. I love how you are obsessed with Rove. It always makes me chuckle.

The astonishing thing is that Tillis, the Republican, is only drawing 45 percent of the white vote.

Who are the remaining 22% of the whites voting for?

If you don’t know how the system works with regards to the Establishment deciding races with massive crony donations, you’re more ignorant than the average MSLSD viewer. Tillis is an uninspiring squishy RINO. It is no wonder he is being trounced in the polls.

In the primary, polls were taken, and EVERY CANDIDATE except Tillis was defeating Hagan. Fortunately, Tillis had Rove’s money. Now he is likely to ensure the b*** returns to Washington.

If you can’t be bothered to watch it, please get a video tape of 2012 coverage of moderate loser senate candidates getting crushed, and hit replay. I’m sure you think Tommy Thompson was a grassroots candidate. haha

6% for Haugh. 15% undecided.

But if even if you do a look at it like: for every 45 white votes for Tillis, 33 white votes for Hagan and 6 white votes for Haugh, Tillis is only getting 54% of the white vote. That is weak when Romney and McCrory get over 2/3 of the white vote.

Tillis is a pick by the NC primary electorate. I didn’t vote for him in the primary but I sure will in November. He has done a great job as Speaker of the House.

My problem is that I see very little of his campaign in Eastern NC. Maybe is doing more in the Piedmont and West.

“Tillis, the Republican, is only drawing 45 percent of the white vote.”

The logical consequence of “I don’t really stand for much of anything except don’t rock the boat, but at least I’m not a Dim so you’ve got no choice but to vote for me.”

I love how you are obsessed by Rove and the GOPe. They control your life and thoughts and daily activity. I do know how the system works, but I don't allow them to make me eat my knuckles. No matter how much money, a good candidate can often (but not always) overcome that disadvantage. Maybe the other candidates weren't as good and besides Tillis has done some very good things. He has absolutely driven the dems crazy in NC. That's worth something...maybe one less knuckle for you to chew on. The fact he has made them spitting mad shows me does not mind rocking the boat from time to time.

Now it is up to him to win and if he is not a strong enough candidate to win the general election in what should be a slam dunk year, then so be it. I know purists don't like Tillis, so shouldn't you be happy if he loses? - Another Vienna Con

I do want to comment on Tommy Thompson. There is probably no one in the country more emblematic of the GOPe than TT. He was begged to run by the GOPe and he was somewhat reluctant, but chose to heed the call and run the ball one last time.

Despite Ron Johnson and Scott Walker, whom I both love, Wisconsin is a perfect state for TT. I think you can acknowledge that a Jim DeMint would never win in Wisconsin.

Well, it turns out that TT did not really have fire in his belly, ran a yawner of a campaign and the voters decided that TT was better staying retired. In hindsight, it was a mistake for him to run, but at the time it made sense. Both Ron Johnson and Walker are fantastic candidates, the type Virginia used to have. They know how to frame issues without running away from them.

Unfortunately, I am shocked by how few know that Virginia even has a Senate campaign. Virginia used to have alot of talented conservatives...I'm not certain where they have all gone.

Oh no! The purists! Those damn fools won’t vote for Jeb Bush!

Dave W retains his reputation as a ‘pod boy’. I’ll remind people you were also a big fan of Thad Cochran. You are and will always be, a liberal. If they put an R next to their name, you will vote for a liberal.

Also, your apparent outrage over the mention of Karl Rove could give people a clue as to who is paying you. Many have contacted me with such suspicions before.

Very funny! I now love how you obsess over me, just another simple Vienna conservative. I am not a big fan of Thad and think he should have had the fortitude to tell the GOPe "no" about running for reelection.

At one time Thad was a very conservative rep and then senator, but we all know the longer one spends time in Washington, the more moderate one becomes.

On primary night, I confess I was agitating those who declared the end of the earth because Thad won the primary. I believed there were a few over hysterical about the vote. However, after a few days passed and I realized what transpired I was outraged myself and apologized to you. You were 100% correct about that primary. However, there are no consequences to be paid by anyone and it appears that Thad will win in a walk.

And yet you are back again, using the old ‘purist’ label as if its any more effective than calling me a racist. Heard it all before.

Give this a glance and let me know which areas you are disarmed about.

The attacks on Tillis are getting old. I don’t give a damn if Barrack Hussein Obama himself endorses this guy.

He is solid and he is conservative.

Tommy lost because Walker could and should have nationalized his recall race connecting it to Obama and the WH heavy handed deep pocket help and the activities which trashed to the state capitol house and senate buildings among other things. Had he done so I think Tommy depite the race he conducted might have sqeeked in. As it was Walker trashed the opposition.
