Only if you are describing ALL MOSLEMS as stuck on stupid.
Every time Obama announces a strategy or plan, ISIS responds and becomes stronger. If there’s a more direct and efficient way way to screw up a tough situation, he’ll no doubt find it. There’s never been a man with so much power and proportional ineptitude to go along with it.
Only a fool would trust a moslem and give them weapons and training.
Carpet bomb anything that moves, blow up the oilfields that they use for income, destroy anything with wheels and let these animals ride donkeys and camels into battle.
All this can be accomplished from the air.
Anybody agitating for a “coalition” of “moderate” rebels is out of their freaking mind at best and a subversive traitor at worst.
I am saying pursuing a policy that topples dictators in the middle east and replacing them with fundamentalist islamists is stupid. Obama insists upon this course and thus he is stuck on stupid.
Ataturk was ruthless and brutal as any Sultan and, indeed, he had to be to create the Republic. For instance, in his westernization drive many men in Istanbul were hung from the lamp posts on Galata Bridge after being caught wearing brimless (Moslem) hats. The cities, well-Istanbul and Izmir- developed a middle class that was nominally Moslem but was and is considered apostates by the Jihadis while the countryside remained Moslem and poor. Remaining poor is a primary reason for not effectively opposing the government's civilized veneer. Obviously ALlah does not will for them to succeed. Yet. Ultimately a market society raised the countryside to a bit of relative affluence and they rurales began to exert their inherent strength to move toward an orthodox Islamic system.
I don’t see poor ppl’s education causing problems. The soft, lenient approach to ‘diversity’ is the problem. I think a country can clearly define its values, culture, laws & teach them via different channels of education. No room for deviation. Those who live in that country or choose to be part of it must either abide & assimilate, or leave or if necessary be expelled. Democracy & freedom have their limits. A key success factor for some muslim countries is that whilst you can practise your religion Privately, eat your ethnic food & speak your ethnic language at home or with similar friends, you must understand, respect and fit in well with the overall culture, and laws of the country you are part of & live in. That’s only fair. In the west we’ve become too accommodating. ‘Liberal’ and secular muslim govts in muslim countries fall apart, mostly, because they either don’t or aren’t permitted (human rights) to successfully enforce a secular culture.
Say it isn’t so!!!!!! Clown Prince nobama, SOS liar skerry, DOD drunk liar hagel (and their foreign policy brain trust, including sandy burgler) don’t have a clue. How can this be?????
Obama desires an Islamic ME and an Islamic world. Toppling dictators in the ME ion favor of Jihad is a big stride in that direction. How is it stupid? You and so many others who should by now know better persist in thinking that Obama is a normal if flawed man who wants the sort of things that we want and wishes to further the interests of the US and is just stupid in what he thinks works. He is not and does not. He is a Moslem and is intelligently promoting the Conversion of all surviving men to Islam.
A non Moslem who acts this way would be stupid. Obama is not stupid.
Moslems cannot and will not do that any more than sufficient to keep from being killed, sequestered or expelled. When they have sufficient strength, are 6 to 10% in a normal democratic western country, they agitate and begin to sway elections. Elected officials begin to do their bidding way out of proportion to their actual numbers because a solid 6% voting bloc determines many elections. In the USA with a huge ppopulation of people who imsist on acting as if Moslems are just like any other liberals, that percentage need not be any more than 1% or even less because the pols rush to do their bidding due to the votes of the liberal Islamist sympathizers.1% of Moslems makes for a majority Islamist voting bloc in many liberal areas and enough to turn the heads of many nominally conservative pols in conservative areas.
ISIS and a number of moderate and hard-line rebel groups have agreed not to fight each other so that they can focus on taking down the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad.Hudna -- it's not just for infidels anymore.
The Syria Revolutionaries Front (...Jabhat Thowar Suriyya) is an alliance formed in December 2013 by 14 Free Syrian Army (FSA) brigades as a response to the Islamist Islamic Front merger. The name of the group has also been translated as the Syrian Rebel Front. Following various clashes, the Islamic Front and the Syrian Revolutionaries Front have agreed to reconcile. The coalition is spearheaded by Jamal Maarouf, head of the Syria Martyrs Brigade, a member of the SRF based in Jabal al-Zawiya, Idlib. The group has supported the Geneva II Middle East peace conference that is aimed at resolving the Syrian civil war. 100 members of the coalition were killed by the Al-Nusra Front on 16 July 2014.
Then the primary problem is the ‘liberal islamist sympathizers’? Am sure muslims vote for liberals for specific reasons...policies in favor of muslims or certain grp of muslims geared to appease the muslim voters. Sounds more of a Liberal problem.
No, that is not correct. I cite Egypt as the example. The Islamic wackos ended up the losers.
It's out in the open now, if he continues to help the rebels in Syria it will be obvious he is helping the enemy. (Not that we didn't already know that)
I guess his meme will now be, Oh we need to help ISIS get Assad out of power.
And back in June:
Syria's Assad Helped Forge ISIS - NewsweekAssad is his own worst enemy, he helped create and build up ISIS/ISIL and now they are coming for him.www.newsweek.com/how-syrias-assad-helped-forge-isis-255631Jun 21, 2014 - A man holds a roll of pictures of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad during a rally in support of him at al-Umawiin square in Damascus June 21, ...
It is truly extraordinary that we live in a country built on having a free press and an informed populace, and have allowed that same press to completely dumb down our citizens.
Does the media even know what they are doing and the effect that are having on our culture?
I think they don’t have clue. I think they are so caught up in Multiculturalism, Moral Relativism and Political Correctness and are on auto-pilot when deciding what and how to report the news.
It’s insanity.
The MSM has the same or more information available to them as we have here on this forum, yet they can’t bring themselves to present the truth because it might offend someone?. The effect, whether they realize it or not, is to marginalize the truth and that creates indifference or uncertainty at best.
I must repeat, I DON’T think the MSM is intentionally misleading people when it comes to this issue of ISIS and Islam. It would make absolutely no sense if they were. It would make them co-conspirators in the spread of a “Death Cult”. A cult of religion that abuses women and homosexuals etc, and they can’t be for that?. They can’t be that malicious.
It seems to me that the media is becoming trapped by its own obsession for political correctness. It’s like a snake that is eating its own tail.
The question becomes, “When will they realize this?”
The Moslems give the Liberals a certain effective weight and the liberals adopt specifically Moslem attitudes and programs because the Moslems are their “oppressed brethren.” The problem in America is Liberals. The presence of a few Moslems magnifies that problem manifold.
For domestic US politics i agree. Foreign policy is a different story & more complex. Maybe another discussion..
It is becoming painfully obvious that the plan all along was to go to war with Syria. Now, that is happening. Wake up people. The real war is not against ISIS. The real war is against Syria.
Arabic cultural norm: no hesitation in teaming up with enemies against a mutual enemy.
