When you are dealing with an administration whose officials look you in the eye and tell you the Muslim Brotherhood is a largely secular organization, its tempting to laugh off the idiocy spouted by President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry about how the Islamic State has nothing to do with Islam. We should resist the temptation, though, because there is a dangerous purpose behind the laughable assertion.
Obviously, Bing West and Daniel Pipes are correct that the terrorist group is entirely Islamic. As Ive been arguing here more times and for more years than I care to remember, what we presume to call radical Islam (a/k/a Islamic supremacism, Islamic extremism, political Islam, Islamism, and whatever other Islam [fill in the caveat] terms we devise to avoid considering whether Islam itself inevitably breeds terrorism) is not very radical among the worlds Muslims. There are pacific constructions of Islam, too, but it is silly not to acknowledge that Islamic supremacism is a mainstream interpretation of Islam. It's firmly rooted in Islamic scripture and endorsed by many of Islams most influential scholars. Indeed, when you read what the scriptures say, there is a good argument that the pacific constructions are the ones that are radical revisionism.
This point has been made so many times it should hardly be necessary to point out that Obama and Kerry, like Kerrys predecessor Hillary Clinton, and like many Bush-administration officials before them (including President Bush), are dead wrong when they deny the nexus between Islamic doctrine the literal scriptures - and terrorism, decapitations, totalitarian government, repression of women, rabid anti-Semitism, the murder of homosexuals, and so on. Still, it would be a serious error merely to observe that they are wrong, snicker at their fecklessness, and move on.

Excellent analysis.
They are very much following in the footsteps of Muhammed himself, may poop be upon him.
Islam, like other leftist agendas,
can only advance when ill-defined and obscured.
It is. I once read an English translation of their book. It was an eye opening experience. I needed a long, hot shower when I was done. There is nothing peaceful about islam. Nothing.
The solution to choking off this cancer is simple.
All we need is leadership and the political will to go ahead.
The US did more (and did it better) when we fought organized crime in the thirties.
What happened to all THAT law enforcement acumen?
It doesn’t take a genius to know how to suffocate and kill this thing. This is not privileged information and it is not some long lost, esoteric and mysterious knowledge.
OUR problem is that we have a President who wholly sympathizes with elements (foreign AND domestic) which are openly antagonistic to the US and its interests... . There is NO other explanation.
It appears that Obama and Kerry are intentionally misleading the American people on what Islam is all about similar to the way GWB was doing.
They may be successful in doing so today but the time will come, after enough Americans are hurt or killed by terrorist acts, that a better understanding will take place.
With few exceptions there is very little difference between radical (i)slam, (i)slam in general and socialism.
Once someone with a little common sense explores the issue, unless they are mentally challenged the light may go on and they may finally realize that both have so much in common that it is uncanny; with the level of violence being the only difference, at least for now. This is one of the outgrowths of socialism when it is taken to the nth degree and a dictator takes over. Unfortunately most humans dont know what a happy medium is, including politicians along with the EPA, just to mention One governmental agency. Once you empower them to regulate a river, they will not give up or be happy until they regulate the water going down your toilet.
The goal of either one is to control the largest number of humans by imposing the will of a relatively few by any means necessary and possible. May this be by cheating, threatening, falsifying information, intimidation, distorting facts, lying, stealing, controlling opinions, violence and even killing.
In other words in order to achieve their goal either one will resort to ways and means which eventually will bring out the worst in human nature and in the long run invariably leads to some form of calamity and failure, and those results are backed up over and over by historical facts. How much longer before mankind learns from history?
I think the proper phrase is "Piss be upon him". Then again, I may not have heard it exactly right.
0bama & Kerry are doofus' and they obviously think we are too by continuing to state the absurd lie that it doesn't.
700 Years after Christ, satan needed a religion.
It may be the “proper phrase” but I’ve always been a rebel
This MUST be true, else it would not be so easy to "radicalize" these young people into suicide bombers.
Thanks, Mr. Prosecutor. It’s exhausting always having to convince people about the plain and obvious. You’d like to believe a majority of human being can pick the crooked exception out from a pile of straight sticks. Our Constitution can, and has, taken a lot of stress. But it isn’t perfect.
“All we need is leadership and the political will to go ahead.”
Dead on. And not applicable to just his situation, but numerous movements including immigration, government over reach, welfare and medicare fraud and waste, and every one of this administrations scandals.
I suggest you study the Hebrew in Genesis 16. Ishmael was born first, and the promise the "angel of the Lord" gave to Hagar for what he was to become was upon him well before Abraham took Isaac to the mountain. Why did make that promise? Well, Hagar called him the name of the Lord.
Gosh, which "angel of the Lord" would that be?
What is it to be a "wild ass of a man"? Well, wild asses can be nasty in disposition, disobedient, and ill disposed to work. They hide from the light in the day (see: "Irad" from the Genesis 4 genealogy of Cain). They move from mare to mare without a care.
Now, what happens when a promiscuous and vicious male dwells in your tents everywhere? His "features" will be in every man. That's what it says. As to the "hand," it could just as easily be a raised phallus. Yep a violent, promiscuous, creep.
Now if that all doesn't point to whom this "angel of the Lord" really was, then you are asleep. All in return for her having called him G_d.
The book was written by shepherds. Shepherds don't mince words with urbane niceties. Best we understand it that way.
Right, these matters are all interrelated at this point.
Immigration IS a national security issue; government overreach along with welfare/medicare fraud and waste ARE economic issues; government scandals ARE national security issues; etc.....
Of course no Liberal would ever allow that it's the truth
Pope Benedict XVI delivered a lecture at the University of Regensburg in Bavaria, in his 2006 speech, simply titled Faith, Reason and the University: Memories and Reflections, Benedict characteristically took up a knotty concept the interplay of faith and reason. He wanted to show how reason untethered from faith leads to fanaticism and violence.
To illustrate that case, Benedict dug up a 14th-century dialogue between a long-forgotten Byzantine Christian emperor, Manuel II Paleologus, and a Persian scholar about the concept of violence in Islam.
Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached, Benedict quoted the emperor as saying to his Islamic interlocutor.
In Islamic teaching, Benedict said, God is absolutely transcendent. His will is not bound up with any of our categories, even that of rationality.
