Hot lunch debate as Bay Area schools go meatless on Mondays

South San Francisco Unified joined the Meatless Monday movement this year, joining Oakland, West Contra Costa and several other districts that have adopted the campaign within the last few years.

There are billions of animals slaughtered for food production each year, said Kristie Middleton, food policy manager for the Humane Society of the United States.

"By going meat free just one day a week we can prevent some of this animal suffering," she said.

"And we tell them a little about the Humane Society and animals," she said. "I like how they talk about compassionate eating. I think the kids are very curious about that."

Kinda goes hand in hand with dumbena titus' push to start instilling guilt in kids in kindergarten about how bad humans are and the havoc we're wreaking on gaia. Maybe they'll have a constant loop of bambi playing in the cafeteria 24/7. Heck yeah. Fires(caused by careless hunters?), loss of a mommy animal by evil hunters. Yup, by 4th grade, these younguns will be so full of guilt you wouldn't dare take them on a field trip to the golden gate bridge.

The first thing a cult will do is take a new recruit off animal protein.

Meat eaters are more independent thinking and not as acceptable to ideas without thinking.

Indoctrinating the youth into the vegan cult. Our grandkids take their meat sandwiches to school on Meat-Head Mondays.

I remember the days when school taught children reading, writing, and math.

Now schools are teaching children the agenda of a select few people.

Not where I teach. Many of the students have shot Bambi's mom before, but they'd really like to shoot his dad.

I think what bugs me most about this is that these maggots never have their own ideas. 40 years ago when I was in school we had meatless Fridays. There was a large Catholic population in the public schools and there was no big deal made of it. No one came in and explained WHY there was no meat on Fridays, there just was not.

This is no longer a requirement, but some Catholics still follow it as a discipline rather than a rule. (Not sure that many who do still have kids in public schools, but I digress.

It was also a policy in my school district not to serve pork, ham or bacon. Again there was a large Jewish population in the area as well. No big deal made there either.

So the part that bugs me, is the lefty's in this country are following the Nazi playbook and making the state a religion and they are forcing it on your kids. These kids will be informing on all of us soon. Pray to whatever God you hold, that this crap is exposed and comes to an end soon. Otherwise see you all in the camps.

In other words it has absolutely nothing to do with MEAT!

Interesting that it’s a “meatless Monday”. For those children who actually are underfed and/or have poor nutrition at home, you’d think having adequate protein after the weekend would be a priority.

These sorts of gestures are only possible in the very most wealthy bored feckless xbox addicted overfed underchallenged societies. This is why in the end the barbarians eventually destroy the civilized world.

If schools didn’t serve meat on Fridays, would the leftists object?

Antlers up! Woo Hoo! I know there are still lots of places where that is true but the insidious arm of the petaheads and ecowackos is getting longer. If nothing else, they are persistent. Just like commies or jihadis, they will wait us out regardless of how long it takes. Hope they brought a pillow.
