Well said. That makes two of us. Moral victories still show as a loss in the record books.

We cannot survive another 4 to 8 years of left wing Democrat control.

Good. That's the point. We haven't "sure showed them" nothing, yet, but we will once the republic is taken off the precipice it now sits on. The issue will not be fixed by voting, not for a RINO or otherwise. If you think the problem goes away when an R is elected, you don't understand the question in the first place.

The Constitution, as far as government is concerned (R & D alike) is dead. The sooner we get pushed off the precipice, the sooner we can bring it back to life.

I'd rather a moral victory than pi$$ing on the Constitution anymore than we have already done. Once again, if you think things change when the R's are brought to power, you don't understand the issue to begin with.

I think we are in an extended war for the survival of our nation and that sometimes the best you can do in a war is to hold your position or retreat and regroup to fight another battle another day. You cannot win a war by simply going home. Look how well that has worked for Obama in Iraq.

The only path that I can see to win this war is:

1. The Republicans hold onto the House and retake the Senate in 2014.

2. The Republicans hold onto the House and Senate and we elect a conservative President in 2016.

3. We replace RINOs in the House and Senate with conservatives in 2018.

If we can accomplish all three, then we can undo everything that Obama has done and pack the courts with conservative judges who will be on the bench for the next 30 years.

The first step is absolutely critical. If we cannot accomplish #1, then Obama and Reid will pack the courts with far left wing judges who will be legislating from the bench for the next 30 years.

If we cannot accomplish #2, then we MAY be able to survive with a RINO as president. We will NOT survive with another Democrat as president.

If a Democrat is elected president in 2016, then the RINOs in the Senate will join with the Democrats to confirm just about every far left wing appointment that the Democrat president makes. Look at how many Republicans voted to confirm Holder, Kagan and Sotomayor. Hell, if I recall correctly, nearly every Republican in the Senate voted to confirm Ruth Buzzi Ginsburg.

The only way to survive a Democrat president in 2016 would be to replace enough Democrats and RINOs in the Senate by 2016 with conservatives to have a veto proof majority. I wish I saw a possible way to do that, but I don't.

It didn't work 2000-2006 (when I was saying the same stuff you're saying, and worked EXTREMELY hard to gain an R majority). Why will it be different this time?

Maybe it won't, but give me another possible way to win the war.

All we can do is continue to work like hell to get the best possible candidates. But when it comes time to vote in the general election, either the Democrat or the Republican is going to win. Sometimes your only option is to pick the lesser of two evils or let the greater evil win.

Conservatives not voting didn't work out so well in 2000-2012 either.

All mind numbing mental exercises and contortions having been completed here Finny, I would ask you what the consequences are then, if you either don’t vote for lesser evil, or waste the vote on some idiot who claims the independent label, or some off the wall party.

When enough people choose that route the real leftist wacko wins.. not the GOP-e as they are referred to.

The fact is that the voting populace of the US has been trending left since WWII. The politicians, who come from the masses, are only a representation of what they see are their constituency.

So you can’t load all the blame for the leftward drift on the politician anymore than you can blame a mirror for the ugly mug it shows you in the morning.

There is only one course of action that conservatives have and that is to continuously and shamelessly explain what we believe and why to anyone who will listen, by voice, by word, or by media.

We also need to concentrate efforts locally, where we can have some effect as all politics are local.

Having done that, all that is left is the vote, and most of us do that, but we are outnumbered. So all you can do is vote for the best candidate on the slate that can represent you.

Sometimes there is not a good choice. In fact, more than likely, you will have to compromise a bit..with yourself.

You don’t need to go through all kinds of agony and mental gymnastics to justify voting for the lesser evil. Because a withheld vote or a misplaced vote, goes to the other side every frickin time it is tried.. It sends no readable message to anyone. All they care about is the win, and each political cycle has a different strategy...Votes for turd parties, or non votes (no shows) are all treated the same..

They only count to raise the opposition’s margin of victory.

“Because a withheld vote or a misplaced vote, goes to the other side every frickin time it is tried.. It sends no readable message to anyone.”

The only message received by voting turd party or staying home is that the far left moonbat won, if anything it encourages RINOs to move farther left!

RINO season has to end after the primary is over!

The way to get more conservative representation in Congress is to personally call your Rep in the House and Senate before each crucial vote and explain that voting the wrong way will result in you supporting a primary challenge to them next election.

Don’t scream or cuss them out, just be calm and direct at how important the vote is to you. That lets them know you are a serious person that may well have the means to follow through with the primary challenge.

I even tell them to look up my voting record and see that I vote in every single election for everything. I also explain that I talk to hundreds of others at social clubs about the important issues and will influence their votes.

It doesn’t cost a damn thing except taking the time to do it and staying up on the issues.

People would be surprised at how well it works. The bottom line is politics belong to those that get involved, NOT those that stamp their feet turning sour grapes into whine!
