Minus the 90 degree white cross in background of the St. Andrew’s cross (without any stars in the blue field)— this is the Naval Jack of the Russian Federation.
The Russian Navy being honored for their early part in restoring the Crimean Peninsula to the “new Russia”, by the “rebels”. The pro-Russian rebels being fans, interestingly of the Romanov dynasty which originated this naval flag. Doubly interesting since Putin is trying to rebuild Stalinist borders for the “old commie guard” of dying out thugs like him. And of course the whole thing being about the supplier of natural gas to..the Ukraine and to the EU. Same old game.
