Now, just who and where were the followers of Martin Luther before he picked up that hammer? 1500 years had elapsed. Were they a secret group, not part of the church generally through those 15 centuries? And are you claiming that this secret group was not anti-Semitic, but that the Catholic Church was?

~How much time?~ Plundering the Judengasse (= Jewish Street) in Frankfurt am Main on 22 August 1614. Russian "pogroms" are quite a novel thing. It has started in earlier 19th century (coincidentally after incorporation of Poland into Russia) and most if not all the anti-Semitic violence in Russian Empire was contained to either Ukraine or Poland. An idea behind the alliance of the German Nazi and Ukrainian nationalists during WWII was mostly a shared belief that Bolshevism is a Jewish plot to ruin their civilizations.
