Sir Paul McCartney has become the latest celebrity to call for Scotland to stay as part of the UK before the country's vote on independence next month.
The ex-Beatle made the declaration as the Let's Stay Together campaign sought support in Liverpool on Saturday.

Liverpool is in Scotland? You learn something new every day.
Scotland will find it tougher on their own. But since they will still be part of the EUSSR what different would it really make, they get to be a different color on the map?
For this reason alone the Scots should vote yes.
Now I know for whom to root.
I always vote the way wacko celebrities tell me to vote. Because I’m too stupid and lazy to learn the facts on my own.
Sadly, that is apparently what a lot of people do.
Not far from it I guess...Macca had a hit with the Scottish style tune Mull of Kintyre tho maybe not so much in the US.
He did record Give Ireland Back to the Irish (”Make Ireland Irish today”) today
Scottish friend of mine (anti-independence) on Facebook
YOU NEED TO DO THIS SCOTLAND THE BRAVE!
Agreed! Was just thinking that if McCartney was against it I’m sure I would be for it!
That said, I love “The Beatles”!!
Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t Scotland heavily dependent on England for welfare and other subsidies? Why would they vote to detach from the tit?
What’s your position on this vote?
“Give Ireland back to the Irish, you’re big enough to take it away.”
Sorry, I guess it’s the wrong decade and the wrong country!
Do the Scots presently have strong enough leadership to make it work?
Well, I was on the fence on the issue, but now that the most brilliant political mind since Justin Bieber has spoken out, well, count me in. Or out. Could go either way depending on what Cher has to say.
The mulch-munching git is right.
The Scottish independence movement is heavily socialist - far more so than the rest of the UK. Independence would be an economic disaster for Scotland (along with all the other joys of socialism), not to mention that the Brits would lose some major naval bases.
“In June, as the polls narrowed and the pro-independence camp’s momentum grew, Cameron’s Conservative Party announced that it was prepared to cede complete control over income tax within Scotland as well as some aspects of local welfare policy to the Scottish government.”

Yea (and I’m of Scot descent) we’re always interested in getting a bargain LOL!
Probably empty naval bases.
They cannot just hand foreign technologies to Scotland without permission can they? They will have to strip certain things from every ship and aicraft and possibly tank that negotiators agree to give Scotland.
They know Cameron is weak like Obama, otherwise independence wouldn’t have a shot. Like Putin they know the way is open and unguarded.
