Actually I was a bit surprised at how weak it makes the Putin regime look to have soldiers refusing orders like that. I remember Yeltsin had to get Interior Ministry troops to invade Chechnya because the army refused.

If each of the other members of the security council just sent 100 troops to Kiev, it could probably halt the Russian advance if each sent 5,000 the Russians will negotiate if each sent 10,000 Russia will move back and start telling the “rebels” to negotiate.
