“with winter fast approaching, the real fun is just beginning.”
That is the real key to all of this, isn’t it?
The Kiev government is already shutting off the power in the rural areas for some hours everyday to save gas. They are just weeks away from the cold weather beginning, and the rainy season.
They HAVE to make sizable gains now, or face another Maidan, this time with guns, as the people start starving and freezing this winter.

Entering?
We’ve been in one since about 18 months after Obama was elected.

If the Ukrainian government breaks down....do they risk the Russians moving in and taking over the entire country The coup that ousted the president is what weakened them and invited trouble in the first place. The coup was done in the name of making the country more pro-Western or pro-EU.... I wonder if Obama's community organizers were behind that one too.
To: Cementjungle
Obama is not “pro-western” himself
“invited trouble”? They invited a Russian invasion by ousting a corrupt dictator who sent goons to kill peaceful demonstrators....

How dare the Ukrainians align themselves with the West! On FR, we favor Sov . . . er, Russian hegemony (but don't dare call the Russians "globalists," the cognitive dissonance is too much to handle.

LOL—do you remember not too long ago, when our resident commie-symps were assuring us that “Russia has no designs on the rest of Ukraine,” “there is no need for Russia to send troops,” and “the concerns of the Ukrainians are unfounded?”

You notice the exact same posters who said this was a civil war and Russia isn’t involved in it are now admitting Russia has invaded but it’s not our fight, stay out of it, and Ukraine needs to surrender?

Well, there is a confluence between Ron Paul supporters, conservatives in the Buchanan mold, and actual Kremlin tools who take advantage of both by pushing their buttons.

Its not our fight.
Obama doesn’t care so why should I?
As a conservative, I see no reason to give him my support where he deserves none.
And he has don’t forget - no “red lines.” Any American who supports the man is a born fool.

Well, the good news, if there is any, is that it APPEARS that Russia is only going to take another 20% bite.
Otherwise they would be moving from the North.

That is complete crap. There is no civil war. This is a 100% Russians engineered terrorist operation, which just evolved into a war of aggression against Ukraine. This is about as much a civil war as 9/11 was. The US needs to give Ukraine massive military aide, there need to be mountains of dead Russian soldiers, and explosions going off all over Moscow and St. Petersburg. This a as clear cut case of good and evil as you will get in the 21st century, a people yearning to be free being devoured by power mad tyrant. Death to Putin. Like your mettle especially in these days of cowards on the right and liars on the left.
