Judicial Watch: DOJ Admits Lois Lerner’s Emails Exist

By Joel Gehrke

August 25, 2014 3:11 PM

A Justice Department official admitted that former IRS official Lois Lerner’s apparently missing emails actually exist on a backup server, but the government doesn’t plan to retrieve them.

“A Department of Justice attorney told a Judicial Watch attorney on Friday that it turns out the federal government backs up all computer records in case something terrible happens in Washington and there’s a catastrophe, so the government can continue operating,” Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton told Fox News’ Shannon Bream.

“But it would be too hard to go get lois lerner’s emails from that backup system,” Fitton continued, paraphrasing the DOJ official. “So, everything we’ve been hearing about scratched hard drives, about missing emails of Lois Lerner, other IRS officials, other officials in the Obama administration, it’s all been a pack of malarkey. They could get these records, but they don’t want to.”

Fitton said his group plans to ask a federal judge to order the IRS to hand over the emails, which conservative opponents of Lerner want to see in order to determine if there is a link between President Obama’s team and the IRS’s targeting of Tea Party groups.

“If this backup system is working, Lois Lerner’s emails are there,” Fitton said.

Hmmm...It is also S8G...I was a student at S8G and it looks exactly the same, then I’m thinking the US Navy would/could be using a standard control panel throughout....I’ve seen this pic around other places and was always hestitant to remark about it but a guess the cat is out of the bag, so to speak. Apparently there are a few other NPS-freepers out there.

I was at S5G for prototype and it looks like that too. But this display is in the Smithsonian and it is from an S5W, although it has been modified since it went on display because some S5W boats were still operating and Tave is still classified.

Liberals all over the government are trying to destroy these emails. Obama is demanding this.

Duh! Of course they still exist! Add on another obstruction charge! Oh wait, we’d have to have Two parties for that to happen.

We need honesty and potentially the prosecution and or imprisonment (I was going to suggest beheading) of those that disrespect honesty.. I’m not at all sympathetic of liars and political elites.

“There is plenty of room between Barrow, Alaska and Prudhoe Bay to punk down a big prison.”

NO WAY! That would harm the delicate environment, disrupt caribou migration routes and melt permafrost which would cause world wide climate catastrophe.

That land must forever be protected as Federal parklands.

I’ve worked in two different military IT organizations.

Site A had a back-up system and strategy, until Sarge came up one day to say the tape unit was screwed up...but no one reacted to replace the unit....for nine months, and Sarge never mentioned this issue again. Then one day the server was noted with major issues, and Sarge kinda noted the last back-up was nine months ago. We moved Sarge out of the shop, bought a new tape unit the next day, and stressed the significance of the policy.

Site B took a direct power hit and killed the server entirely (we had various strategies to prevent such a hit, but they were all overcomed by the event). We had a new server in a box, a back-up tape from twenty-four hours prior, and one single guy had everything back on line in ten hours. We lost roughly six hours of potential new data.

Everything is totally dependent on the team involved. For the IRS folks....I’d fire the whole IT department if this was my crew.
