Arab foreign ministers held a meeting in Saudi Arabia on Sunday to discuss the Syrian conflict and the rise of "extremism" in the region, the official SPA news agency reported.
The meeting came as US media reported that Washington, which has launched air raids in northern Iraq against Islamic State, could consider similar action against IS jihadists in Syria.
The closed-door talks in the Red Sea city of Jeddah was attended by the foreign ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar, as well as an advisor to Jordan's foreign minister, said SPA.

Yep. Their heads are going to be on a stick. Hey Obama, can u help us. GFO.
I have been asking myself this question since all this ISIS crap started-—where are the Arabs? ISIS is caught between Jordan, Iran, Iraq, Syria, the Kurds, and Turkey. Are they so weak and impotent that they couldn’t assemble a Pan-Arab/Islamic force to destroy these people?
Do they really want to? IS is a Saudi creation, at the end of the day.
When you fund thousands of wahhabist schools and mosques for over 35 years, those chickens will come home at some point.
Let them eat cake. Bout time they got a taste of their own medicine. Protect Israel, Christians, Jews and any other non Muslim people....
NOT ONE US soldier to be sent to Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan to help them fight their own kind. Case Closed.
“where are the Arabs? ISIS is caught between Jordan, Iran, Iraq, Syria, the Kurds, and Turkey.”
Wouldn’t surprise me if Turkey is just waiting to see a few more cards on the table once the dust clears a bit.
Thanks markomalley.

They could but won’t. This goes back to WWI when T.E. Lawrence of the British military tried to unify the Arab tribes and couldn’t. The countries created after WWI were still defined until recently when ISIS bulldozed the berm defining Syria and Iraq. Qutar, Kuwait.
UAE, and Saudi Arabia are next.
Then they will finish Syria, turkey, and Iran.
Perhaps breaking up the Ottoman Empire wasn’t such a great idea.
“The Ottoman descendants could easily view themselves as proven stewards of the Mid East”
Erdogan is ambitious and is mentioning the Ottoman ‘vilayet’ concept. Add that he has the same geopolitical drive as Putin and is rumored to have cancer, limiting time to achieve his goals, so I think things could get interesting.
Again thanks for the thoughts - I’ve always been fascinated with Ottoman history and am amazed at them as a people. The same goes for the Carthaginians.
That the Ottoman’s had some poor leaders at the end of their empire reminds me of the leadership we have here today .
Sad to see the turn in their political system and our relations with them strained. Didn’t know Erdogan had cancer.
Interesting times but always time for Hope
