China Conducts Second Test Of Game-Changing Missile

National Security: Beijing is moving fast on a maneuverable, hypersonic glide vehicle designed to evade America's defenses, including the Aegis ballistic missile system guarding our carrier battle groups.

On Aug. 7, China conducted a second test of its hypersonic glide vehicle (HGV), known as the WU-14, yet another example of its relentless pursuit of high-tech weaponry as the United States abandons what the administration dismisses as Cold War weaponry.

The first test, conducted in January, saw China's HGV reach speeds in the vicinity of Mach 10, about 10 times the speed of sound. In the latest test, according to Internet reports, the WU-14 was the upper stage of a missile launched from the Jiuquan satellite launch facility in China's western Gobi desert.

Strategic experts say that the importance of this weapons program cannot be understated. The Washington Free Beacon quotes Rick Fisher, senior fellow at the International Assessment and Strategy Center, as saying:

But of course we need to cut defense to tackle bigger issues like income inequality.

Probably using technology sold to China

They don't need to buy now, they just steal it.

While it appears to be a great idea, guiding that weapon system is going to extremely complicated, to say the least. Indeed, I have my doubts about the Chinese DF-21A ballistic missile intended to attack US aircraft carriers unless the warhead on the missile is a nuclear warhead with at least 100 kT explosive yield so the missile doesn’t require completely precision guidance.

You’re hitting on the lunacy of what we’re allowing this Marxist-in-Chief to do to our readiness.

I’m convinced that all those thousands of high level military men that were purged over the past few years were the ones who would NOT allow this.

And Senator McCain stood silent.

It is beyond description how we moronic USAians are funding such weapons, to be used eventually against USA, by buying everything Chinese.

While the carriers may be the target, it's like the “too big to fail scenario;" by taking out that big a target, the Chinese would become subject to all-out war, including ICBMs, IMO.

“As we’ve also noted, China recently unveiled a new road-mobile intercontinental ballistic missile, the DF-41, that can deliver 10 nuclear warheads to any target in the U.S. We have moved in the opposite direction, recently deactivating an entire ICBM missile squadron.”

Ooops!

Oh wait, you mean “star wars” DOES work? You mean the liberals who said it was a big waste of time and money (and still say that) were ignorant or deceitful liars? They put politics ahead of the defense of our nation.

"In the latest test, according to Internet reports..."

Seriously...they base the claim of a hypersonic missile test on an "Internet report"?

Well, I am reporting that I just conducted a test of a hyper-sonic eliminating, micro-singularity, that cannot be seen or tracked, but that renders all hypersonic speeds inert when targeting them.

There. Fixed that. It is the perfect defense and I am reporting my test, here on the Internet, as a complete success.
