They were right about last year’s cold winter, way before anybody else.

Yea, but summer, at least here in Indy, has been blessedly cool. It all balanced out.

Sure could have stood it being a bit warmer at night this summer.

Personally, here in Indy during summer; having 50 degree nights has been the most glorious, wonderful summer sleeping weather in a coon’s age.

Nu huh, ain’t giving it back, and if it means another cold snowy winter to have another cool summer - I’m in!

Winter kicked our butt here in Northern Il., but it’s been wonderful sleeping weather this summer.

I’ve always wondered what it would be like to have cold in the winter.

Might be fun I guess to try shoveling snow out of the driveway before heading off to work.

I’ll be happy to see the prediction for the desert south west. Rain is always such a treat when we get it.

The map is somewhat similar to what Joe Bastardi has been saying. Above average precipitation in the middle of the country.

Re: Your map. I thought all the ‘average’ people lived in Minnesota, Yah Hey? ;)

I’m preparing for a cold winter again this season in southern Wisconsin. Snowfall was MORE than manageable last year, and last year was the very FIRST year of 25 where I had one set of frozen pipes when we’d have a week straight of sub-zeroes.

Re-doing the attic insulation this fall. It won’t be cheap up front, but well worth it in the long run. Warmer in winter, cooler in summer.

I have totally LOVED this cooler summer weather! I’ve had the a/c on a total of 10 days this whole summer and my garden has been uber-productive. Canning sweet corn and ‘maters tomorrow! :)

darn it! Last winter a lot of neighbors pipes burst in my condo and its not an old building.

but this summer it hasn’t been as hot as last year.

Last winter was the most ‘wintry’ I can remember in the DC area. We typically have a couple weeks of winter, some warm days in February, then cold again, but nothing like the North. Last winter arrived early and felt like it was never going to leave, with seriously cold days and nights. Again, nothing like the North but unusually cold for the Mid-Atlantic.

Our Summers usually are brutal, mostly from humidity. This year has been really nice, not too many hot/humid days (relatively) and lots of cool nights.

Every year that’s what they proclaim.

With less accuracy than the local weather man has at predicting the weather 14 days out.

This falls in line with what Joe Bastardi is saying for the most part.

Does the Almanac also predict the Alpacalypse?
