6 shots is very low for police use of force. Most I read about involve a magazine dump at least.

The basic rule of thumb is "If they keep coming, you keep shooting."Doesn't get more simple than that.

About 50 pounds per 1/4 oz bullet. Sounds about right.

Actually, the count is a little low, considering the pi$$-poor shooting skills of today’s cops.

Pretty good shooting for a guy who had a fractured orbital bone in one of his eyes as he was being charged by the moose 6-4 290 pounds

In a defensive situation: Fire until the slide locks back... reload, repeat.

Yep. Once the shooting starts empty your clip and make sure that perp is down.

The basic rule of thumb is "If they keep coming, you keep shooting."Exactly. I was taught to keep shooting until the target is down. That involves usually at least two shots--"controlled pairs."

Looking at the first wounds which were not lethal Mr. GG2 and I speculated that the cop was prolly trying to just disable Brown and then when he kept coming he finally had to put one in the head. Man if that locomotive was coming at me I would have emptied the mag in him. Talk about fear for your life.
