Virginia’s bleak financial outlook just got gloomier.

Gov. Terry McAuliffe told members of the joint state House and Senate money committees on Friday that Virginia is projected to rake in $2.4 billion less than it’s budgeted to spend during a three-year period. […]

Even as he emphasized that cuts need to be made, however, he also made another thing clear—he’s going to find a way to expand healthcare options for Virginia’s poor, and he’s ready to use the power of his executive office to do so.

He’s about to run into a buzzsaw, because unlike ther U.S. Congress against Obama, Virginia’s state legislature has real fangs under the Commonwealth’s Constitution and is not afraid to sue them.

I suggest the “governor” use the power of his executive office to add a surcharge of 10 % tax on all Virginia citizens who work in DC....to help expand medical coverage...

After all they are the ones with the best jobs and voted for this crap in the first place....

that buzz saw has its work cut out for it to cut through the “tatooine” of voters that has become blue blue Northern Virginia, “voters” who have no independent liberty-embracing values and principles like the ones that built the old Virginia

The only reason we got Terry McAuliffe was because the Democrats bankrolled a phony libertarian candidate. The present governor didn't win the majority.

you got McCauliffe because
a) the democrats have created a large plantation of govt dependent votersi in northern part of the state
b)the Talbots ladies and soccer Moms became convinced that Cuccinelli was going to keep them barefoot and pregnant

Taxes are already too high. Reduce entitlement spending.

I live in Richmond. A pretty conservative area if you go west. Like any other state with a dem Governor we’re held hostage to pockets that vote for these baboons over and over. In this case, Northern Virginia. A completely different state really.

Bam. Now that’s a novel idea. I have no clue how I’m going to afford to pay the damn Obamacare penalties next year. First they say it’s going to be $697 per head the first year now they say it’s going to be $2,488. HUGE difference. I know I damn sure can’t afford to pay $600 - $1,000 per month per head to have Obamacare. This is clearly a tax placed on the middle class to break them and turn us into “civil criminals”...I can’t wait till they exile the Emporer to Elba once he falls...and he will. We know how the history of tyrants plays out...

We have already seen the national dictator, now it is starting to look like any Dem state governor could set up his own kingdom too. This could get interesting.

Took the Russians 70 years to get rid of theirs and then another rose up in the old ones place. Don’t look too good if we do not put a stop to it now.

“Virginia’s state legislature has real fangs under the Commonwealth’s Constitution and is not afraid to sue them.”

And they’re keeping the clamps on that corrupt POS McAwful. The House of Delegates won’t give him an inch.

The first step to fixing healthcare should be to fix the healthcare industry’s billing scam.

I predicted back when this guy got elected that by the time he finishes his term, he will have grabbed every dollar he could, even rip the copper piping out of the governors mansion’s walls. He will say it is for the unfortunate and the children, but he he is protecting the cash he is doling out to himself and his golfing buddies.
