Robbery Tape Humiliates Media's 'Gentle Giant' Narrative (Michael Brown/Ferguson, Missouri)
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | August 15, 2014 | Ben Shapiro

Posted on 08/15/2014 8:57:06 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)

With the release of tape today by the Ferguson Police Department of a man who appears to be Michael Brown allegedly physically assaulting a much smaller clerk while stealing Swisher Sweet cigars, the media’s narrative has collapsed. The media – and top-level politicians across the political spectrum – portrayed Michael Brown in saintlike fashion. That narrative no longer holds.

The report from the police department states:

Brown grabbed a box of Swisher Sweet cigars and handed them to Johnson. [REDACTED] witnessed [REDACTED] tell Brown that he had to pay for those cigars first. That is when Brown reached across the counter and grabbed numerous packs of Swisher Sweets and turned to leave the store.

Brown then reportedly “grabbed [an intervening bystander] by the shirt and forcefully pushed him back into a display rack.”

We still don’t know the details of what happened between Officer Darren Wilson and Brown that led to Brown’s shooting death. Perhaps Wilson is a racist; we have no evidence of that as of yet. Perhaps Wilson used excessive force; we have no evidence of that as of yet, since we don’t have full evidence of the situation leading to the shooting. If Officer Wilson killed Brown without justification, he should obviously be punished to the full extent of the law....

First I heard of that. I thought it was the store owner/clerk who Brown intimidated.

I agree, I think if the video had been released the very next day the media would have seen what utter fools they were to even report on this..the media went from making Brown their little folk hero to now realizing this is another dud

There are still millions of people that think Trayvon was a choir boy and that Zimmerman is chapter president of his local neo-Nazi party group.

Investigations take time. You just can't instantly release stuff like that. The real question is why can't everybody (especially the media) wait until the facts are established to decide if they want to get hysterical or not.

Maybe getting all their ducks in a row before any announcement. Being 99% right is equal to being 100% wrong if the media sees you as the enemy.

‘Thuggish bully’ doesn’t sound as good as ‘gentle giant’.
And if true that he struggled with the policeman, this sounds like ‘Treyvon II’, but even weaker.
I wonder how many gentle sons of Obama will shoot one another this weekend in Chicago. The body count has risen, along with kills as the summer passes.
Maybe Reverends Dee and Dumb could preach to street gangs.
Oh yeah, that won’t work: Jesse admits he crosses the street if he sees young black men coming down the sidewalk.
Hypocrite.

I’m so tired of this. All these sources fail to mention that before he was ruthlessly gunned down by a rogue cop, this poor kid was an altar boy and sang in his church choir.

AND he was an honors student headed for college on a basketball scholarship and a star on several high school sports teams.

More than that, he spent his spare time tutoring mentally challenged kids and heading up food drives for the less fortunate - when he wasn’t busy as an Eagle Scout.

His execution-style slaying speaks volumes about the oppression of Blacks and the stilted nature of race relations in America.

You are correct. QuikTrip is a privately held, employee owned company. It's a great business, but unfortunately the only way to buy stock is to work for them.

Watching the media and the race pimps try to spin this latest revelation after 5 days of pushing what now proves to be a false narrative is far more entertaining than if "all the facts" had been released immediately.

They look like a bunch of idiots.........

I wonder if Nancy Grace will treat the Brown story as she did the Travvon Martin story, where she essentially ignored the overwhelming evidence against Martin so as to earn her race-baiting stipes, or ‘street cred’ with Al and Jesse.

Now we see that Brown, like TM, is no Saint.

Overheard on the interwebs:

Have you ever noticed how in election years, some local police blotter item that can be spun as supposedly proving a vast national crisis of white racist violence against innocent blacks seem to become the most important new event of the century for awhile? For example, in 2006 there was the Duke Lacrosse Case, in 2012 12-year old Trayvon Martin was wantonly gunned down by a white man from across the street, and in 2014 there’s Ferguson, MO, a place I have to admit to never having heard of before this month.

I'm guessing this is part of an organized media effort to drive up the black vote in an election year. And the odds are that folks anticipating a GOP landslide might be unpleasantly surprised when the election returns come in.

Maybe because they are legally required to get all their ducks in a row before releasing information to the public. They have been a little busy, what with the riots and all.

Meanwhile someone is cooking your Christmas goose.

I'm not buying that -- from hour one the press was asking the police for answers that they were perfectly able to answer from the start and which would have quelled the situation.

No they weren't. They were out filming the rioters, and the police were out trying to deal with the rioters. I do not remember any MSM source asking "Did Mr. Brown commit a crime prior to the incident?"

I don't remember the MSM even asking where Mike had been before the incident. I don't remember any Freepers asking either.

I applaud your honesty. As for why this wasn't released earlier: they are facing an avalanche of lawsuits and a national press looking to rip them apart over even the most trivial of errors. Their primary goal is to conduct a thorough and objective investigation (translation -- take their time). Their secondary goal is to protect themselves from this upcoming assault (translation -- don't say anything unnecessary, and anything that can't be 100% defended in a court of law). No where in their job description is it their job to save people from race pimps, their allies in the press, and the hordes of useless idiots. If those three groups of people choose to start riots, the culpability lies with them, not the police department. If people choose to believe any of those three groups, they, not the police, are eligible for the Darwin award. But heading these leeches off at the pass is not what the police department is charged with, and is incompatible with their actual job.

I cannot take Nancy Grace seriously. And it’s not the obvious reasons. Every time I look at her I think she looks like Jan from “The Brady Bunch”. I think that some time during one of her shows she’s gonna throw her notes in the air and start screaming “Marsha, Marsha, Marsha!!”

There, I said it.

When renewing ccw, the instructor hammers home the point:Never say anything to anyone, especially the police. Talk to an attorney instead. Never converse with the police.

We all know that. The question is why?

The answer is that anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.

I think the police themselves know that full well.

This is starting to hurt us in our souls. You can’t even trust Brietbart anymore, since they assassinated The Man more than a year ago. Since then the site has been compromised and corrupted. The video that they are showing is from four years ago, because I remember watching it way back then. The man in that video is not Michael Brown, the young man who was gunned down for jaywalking. That’s right. He wasn’t stealing a car or robbing a store, he was just crossing through vehicular traffic. And the mean cracka cop confronted him and gunned him down for it, with lots of witnesses watching. You don’t have to believe me. The truth will come out, eventually, in spite of how the old media and the new media have been corrupted.

And the odds are that folks anticipating a GOP landslide might be unpleasantly surprised when the election returns come in.

At this point, I do not consider a GOP landslide to be a win.
Why?

That can best be answered with an honest look at some questions:

  1. The GOP claims to be for governmental accountability, yet what have they done WRT Fast & Furious?
  2.     "      WRT the IRS political targeting?
  3. The GOP claims to be for the Constitution, yet were they defending the 4th Amendment WRT the NSA's domestic espionage?
  4. The GOP claims to be for the 2nd Amendment; when have you ever heard them seriously talking about repeal of NFA or GCA?
  5. The GOP claims to be for reforming/lowering taxes; why haven't they pushed for a flat income tax?
  6. The GOP claims to be against abortion; why is it NEVER the right time to push the issue?
  7.     "      why did they push pro-abortion Romney in 2012, even as they added no exceptions to the platform plank?
  8. The GOP claims to be for a strong national defense; why then did they keep the border unsecured when they had control of both the Executive and Legislative?
  9. The GOP claims to be about Constitutionally limited government; why then do they support the War on Drugs which essentially requires unlimited government?
  10.     "      yet not a peep when the USSC declares that the fourth amendment has exceptions.
  11. The GOP claims outrage when governing bodies usurp powers; yet they do nothing to correct an usurpation when they are in power.
Looking at actions [and inactions] I am forced to conclude that they are colluding with the Democrat party for Statist goals.
