Rand Paul caught partying in the Hamptons after skipping conservative event for a ‘family
UK Daily Mail ^ | August 13, 2014 | Francesca Chambers

Senator Rand Paul was spotted hobnobbing at a party in the Hamptons last weekend after he claimed he could not attend a high-profile conservative event he was listed as a sponsor of because he had a 'family commitment.' Paul told the Family Leader he had to skip the group's annual summit on Saturday because he had to attend an event in New York with his family. The presumed 2016 presidential candidate's absence at the influential Iowa gathering was called into question, however, after the New York Post reported that Paul and his wife, Kelley, attended the East Hampton Library fundraiser that day.

Looks like Rand has been assimilated by the Northeast Corridor Borg Collective.

Who hasn’t made up a lie to get out of a boring event?

I’m not joining any circular firing squad. No one, NOBODY, running or likely to run is a perfect candidate in my view but several are acceptable to me. I won’t fault someone seeking the office for doing the necessary in an attempt to save this republic. Listing of the faults, failings or shortfall from some impossible ideal is neither helpful nor instructive. All their shoes hold clay feet.

He is a mugwump. Sits on top a fencepost with his mug on one side and his wump on the other always at the ready to turn around quickly.

I have nothing against a polite, white lie to get out of an event that you don’t want to attend (as opposed to saying “I have a better offer”), but at least make one up that can’t be proven wrong.

Rand Paul supported Mitch McConnell and Lamar Alexander in their Primaries.

Rand Paul supports amnesty for illegal aliens.

Of course, Rand Paul belongs in the Hamptons.

That’s where the liberal elite gather.

Apparently Rand Paul’s not attending Iowa’s family leadership summit is bigger news than the event itself.

…and he just supported forcing all industries to implement the “Rooney Rule” from the NFL for minority hiring……and he praised the Thad Cochran campaigns efforts to attract black voters……I mean, the last year has been friggin disaster for Rand.

He’s all over the place, trying to be loved by everybody, criticizing Ted Cruz, and listening to his consultants.

I don’t have a problem with the white lie….. I have a problem with the underlying issue of Paul being a flip flopping mess for over a year now.

"his liberal family"

Any chance Rand Paul has of winning the presidency depends on building an unconventional or non-traditional coalition.

He has been upfront and honest about it.

That is why a lot of both democrats and republicans fear Rand Paul.

The existing coalitions in both parties have been around since the 1960s, 70s, and 80s. The coalitions in both parties are strained and if Paul is successful creating a new coalition, that has the potential to bust up these old coalitions ushering in a period of political re-alignment and instability in both parties.

For example, Paul's libertarian bent may not be adequate for social conservative republicans or Paul's foreign policy isolationism may lead GOP hawks to vote for Hillary.

More 'perfection' BS from the liberal republican camp.

Romney didn't even match his own party platform on abortion, gun control, amnesty, socialized medicine, or big government. I don't think anyone wanted perfection, unless perfection = matching the party platform.

You need to get some stain stick on that kool aid you spilt all over yourself. If you have to be a philosophical eunuch, a contradictory liar, and an intellectual idiot to get votes, then you should not get votes. And I hate to burst your paul bot bubble, but no one "fears" Rand Paul. Not politically.

…and yet, his bot supporters insist he (and his Dad) are the only ones who are NOT typical politicians. Their naivete is only exceeded by their self righteousness….

I’m in Iowa. I’ve been active in the Party in the past. Bob Vander Platts and his little band are a joke.
