The police department in a St. Louis suburb where a man was shot and killed by a police officer is asking protesters to gather only during daylight.
Ferguson has been the site of nightly protests and unrest since 18-year-old Michael Brown was killed during a confrontation with an officer on Saturday.
In a news release issued Wednesday, the department asked that all people who assemble to pray or protest do so in an organized and respectful manner and disperse well before evening to ensure the safety of participants and the community.
The City of Ferguson mourns the loss of Michael Browns life that occurred of Michael Browns life that occurred this past Saturday, the statement read. We understand members of our community, and those nationwide, are grieving with us. We have worked diligently to provide an opportunity for our residents to both grieve and voice frustrations through prayer vigils and peaceful protests.

Not all healthy youngsters are rioting and threatening the police.
If you reach inside the car and grab the cops shirt, that will end up in the report that you were trying to grab his gun if the cop shoots you. Your goal has to be the gun in the mind of the cop.
“Gee... guns save lives... whodathunk it...”
Preaching to the choir brother.
Yeah, I should have added the /sarc tag after. That wasn’t directed at you, friend... was kind of a general slap at those who denigrate our right at every opportunity.
I implore the police to put their uniforms back on and lose their military camouflage and military war mentality...This goes for all the events everyone has been witnessing, not just what is happening in St. Louis...
hundreds of thousands of blacks shot by other blacks
not a peep
one black person shot by a white cop
time to riot!
I bet a lot of people moved out of east st louis to ferguson years ago to get away from inner city crime, now that it followed them to the suburbs where will they move now?
Two black Congressmen called on Obama to declare Martial Law today. It is just a matter of time.
Your post #17 indicates you are are a very astute and wise man.
Well said, but there’s another element in this story: the jury. All of the evidence in the world won’t matter if the jury is prejudiced, and once the cop’s name, address and SS# are made public, his life is in danger regardless.
I’m making the assumption that this will be prosecuted.

I agree with you. Someone in that position is at a clear disadvantage.
good luck unringing that bell
I have no idea what happened, however after just watching live on CNN, it seems to me they are throwing the officer involved under the bus, going to let a grand jury decide??
So the officer gets no rights? NOT suggesting cops can do no wrong, I was roughed around once in my life by them and was totally innocent, but having said that, it sounds like under the bus for the officer involved for the sake of the day.
This will be about witnesses and evidence. So far, the deceased is having witnesses speak. The police aren’t saying anything.
I agree. This will be prosecuted. Don’t they run continual tape/video in police cars? Or is that just when there’s a stop made?
In a case without media attention, it may not even reach the grand jury, I would argue most cases dont go to a grand jury? They can indict a ham sandwich right.
I always thought once a case goes to a grand jury the % is in the 90`s that it goes to trial.
Like I said, I have no idea what happened, but this officer could easily be railroaded.
Agreed. But I have a problem with the multiple shots by police if that is the case. Some say he was shot 8 times!
I’m waiting for facts which are a long time coming.
Anyone know if the autopsy report is out yet? Or when?
